ATLS Traffic Light And NRC Crossing System Troubles

I'm having a slight problem with the system, and I'm sure it's probably just my error and something I can easily fix. When I finish Surveyor and drive, it works perfectly and is definitely my favorite crossing system. (not that I have tried many others) However, when I leave that route and go to another route, I run into a problem. Next time I go back to the route with the ATLS NRC system, all of the slaves, controllers, and triggers are set back to "Channel OFF" and the other settings are reset to default. I need help with this! I can't keep going through and re-configuring all of the triggers every single time I want to build or drive on the route! If anyone has a solution or even if you think it's a solution, please reply. Thanks.

I agree with Shane. If you save ATLS settings they will save to the session. If you then delete that session the settings will go with it. I personally think it's not totally efficient but then again, what is? :)

However, you can save the crossings to the route by saving them as the exact name as is in the box after configuring the crossing fully. I've not had much dealings with ATLS yet though until I build a full tramway so I can't say for sure whether it works 100%.

I always save them to the route. You're saying I'd have to make the whole route, then config the crossings and save them as a session instead of the route itself?

The only problem is, if I use Edit Session, the route itself won't get updated with the tracks and stuff I end up adding, it'll only be that session.

No no, not at all. I wonder if you've had the same problem I've had, where you think it has saved to the route but actually it hasn't. I find that you have to click the asset, type the exact name into the name box, press okay and then open the edit box again and then press okay again. That seems the only way it will definitely save to the Map and even then I have had issues with it not working after closing it down and loading it up again. It's a difficult system to use even at the best of times

Edit session will save both session information and route information when you close it. You should see a window that asks to overwrite both session and route, clicking yes updates both with all the new work.
To save ATLS to the route select the properties on every ATLS asset. In the top left you will see a code (ATLS2[1,2,AA]) or something similar. Copy this code into the name object line at the top of the properties window. This will now save the settings to the route. Reopen the asset and the channel number should say map if it saved correctly.

Hi,

As Stagecoach says, the codes to set each asset are generated in blue at the top left hand corner of each asset's dialogue box. (You will see them change as you set up each asset).

Just name-save the ATLS asset exactly as you see the code. You can do this in either Route or Session layer but make sure the asset itself is on the Route Layer.

Once you've entered the save-name and closed the box you can save the Route. They will then be 'set to the map' when you re-open the route. If you want to see that done 'live' so to speak you will need to open and close the box twice.

Be very careful to enter the correct code.

Full instructions are in the asset or you can download a pdf from my tutrorials page. http://www.boatztrainz.co.uk/tutorials.html

Cheers,

Boat
