Kind of wondering why this happened? all of my crossings stopped working and on approach to them (when they should be triggered)I get a script error. I took sceenshots if its usefull?

The screenshots will be useful here, so we can see what the actual error is. Also make sure you've installed any relevant updates to the assets.

Looking at the errors, the invisible train asset used for the slave is missing or faulty - check if there are any updates for it.

Also, it looks like the Quickdrive rule is misbehaving as well, which may also need an extended database repair.

Not at home at the moment so this is off the top of my head.... but yes, agree with Shane, probably a missing or wrong version Invisible Train.

It seems you are running TS 10 so you should have use latest versions of both Slave AND Invisible train.

See www.boatztrainz.co.uk/atls.html for a bit more info and links.

The only other thing. Please confirm you have not put the Slave where a visible train can run along it and into the Invisible Train. This will also cause that error as it will couple to the Invisible train and change its ID number.

Let us know how you do.

I get that on start up of a route. I just close it and it all works fine, think the quick drive may be what is causing them to not work. The inverse slave on my level crossings is what causes my red bug but it has not effected the running of it after start up.

Thanks guys, Shane and Boat. Downloading controller/slave did the trick. I wonder why this happened? I cannot think of anything that was done to trigger this, so to speak. Anyways, thanks again..especially Boat for being so patient in your support of essential freeware content, and Shane too...guys like you are what keeps me interested when technicalities seem too much!

Keith,

You really shouldn't get any red bugs with the Slave. Red bugs are very bad. They dump all script threads. Not just their own. All of em.... so if ATLS OR ASB Crossover are running and a red bug happens they will lose all their information. You might get away with that at the start of a Session but if its in the middle ATLS etc will get confused.

Don't know why the Inverse Slave should do that if the ordinary Slave is OK. Do you have the latest version of the Inverse? I updated that too.

Justin - Glad its sorted!

Hi Boat The bug does not appear in game only on start of drive via F2. It appears with a couple of others from an engine. The engine leaves via portal and comes back and no red bug appears on its return. I believe this is caused by some scripts looking for items that trainz has not yet loaded into the game. It appeared some time ago after the inverse slave was used on this particular route and has never gone away, even after all the updates. The other route I have with the ATLS assets does not produce the red bug, and that one also has inverse slave. No red bug appears when in surveyor for any item and all assets are fault free, It just appeared and stayed on start of driving the route with no ill effects being experienced while driving the session.

OK, thanks Keith.

If that's all it probably won't matter. Sounds like the one I sometimes get if you open/close Trainz too quick.

I'm just getting a bit more aware of red bugs that might appear in-game due to faulty scripts in some assets. As I say, they don't just kill themselves.... they will kill ATLS and ASB too.

Always best not to use any asset that you can trace doing it. They only dump threads at the point the bug appears but the red seems to stay there till you accept it. So long as they don't come back later, after ATLS/ASB have set variables you are OK.

They get everywhere!
