I've just uploaded a small switching layout to the DLS. (Available soon, currently unlisted)

  • There's a small staging yard with portals which transport trains to the main layout area.
  • Several Multiple Industries have been setup to consume and produce various commodities.
  • Tracking cameras have been positioned so almost all operations can be completed without leaving "Lineside" camera.
  • Most assets can be found on the DLS with the remaining unknowns are likely from JR or RRMods.

Hi Andrew --

I was really looking forward to this layout after seeing your screen shots. It looked so well finished and looked as if it would have plenty of operating potential.

I was surprised, though, that it needed over 600 dependencies from the Download Station. But then the real killer for so many routes and layouts I've downloaded from the DLS -- the dreaded missing dependencies. In this case almost 100 of them. 96 to be precise. Unfortunately one of the most critical, if not the most critical, was one or more of the tracks you used. Of course, without the track train operation is just impossible.

Guys -- all of you -- for the newcomers to this hobby who just want to download a route and run trains we all really need to do better. After all, I managed to do this layout with only built-in and DLS content (though I have to admit maybe it might have suffered as a result):

Thank you very much for the new map, I like very much, and the session with the programmed portals.
I think, one portal is missing. On the left side of the door, there is a track, disappearing into the black - and there is no portal behind. ;)

There is Track missing it looks like the track you used on doing the fiddle yard and around the map can you please tell us what track that is because at the moment I can't use the map

Hi Andrew608 First of all Thankyou for the track this is a neat looking layout there is other stuff thats missing but it just looks like Box's /Trailers / Cars / Tractor units.
So I can just add things.
Thank you for the time that you put into this lay out it is very cool I can't wait to see what you well do next.

I sympathise with your rant. I now have a copy of TRS22PE installed which will only contain assets that are Built-in and Installed from DLS. There will be no Packaged, Payware assets or assets installed from third party websites. So when I test a route in TRS22 that was created in Trainz Plus then any such issues (Missing dependencies, unknown asset) will be quickly identified and fixed.
 
After 3.5 Gb of downloads to find the missing assets, I am down to just these 21. If someone could tell me what they are and if possible where they are found, I would appreciate it.

I'll see if I can get some more specifics on where to find them in the meantime...
 
.. thankz a lot andrew608 for the nice diorama on one board : the way i like them ..

i have the same experience as philskene :
- a download of >600 deps from dls
- a lot of missing unknowns .. at least the same as railpilgrim ..
.. but luckily i had all the tracks .. probably due to the same taste : jointedrailliking & rrmodding ..
because of those flavors i found my missings rapidly :
- in the newest creations of rrmods : the dumptrucks and roadtrailers and mowtrucks from firestorm32..
- several routepartdeps from jointedrail (which i didn't install (yet) im my present build) : 22alpha ..
- also from jointedrail i had already the load (rails & ties) from wearsprada ..
- the safetran crossings from ryanstrains could no longer be found on the jointedrailsite .. but i found them im my trs19 (117009) .. and exported it there to cdp ....
- the trucks wheels from wearsprada were also "imported" from trs19 ..
- the sailboat from gfisher in a dutch route nederland west (nw6go.cdp in part nw6b.zip) on trainzonline.nl ..

eventually the missings were reduced to 3 :

petrama's garbage can (525841) and the items from 22alpha (175455) are replaceable ..

I have googled each of these but even the JR site doesn't have some of them.
Is there a way if someone could possibly find out if any are attached to Payware routes and which ones they are please?
I have had a look at the route in Surveyor and it looks fantastic.
