I have the 2006 Trainz and some of installed locos eg b class diesel and others that have been downloaded show up in all white with bogies ok in some The K steam engine shows up with white wheels and some black.Can someone tell me what is going on here please. They turned white like in content create section where you paint your train . They show up in Railyard too all white. Help Tapie. Is my game damaged?

That sounds similar to the 'black asset' issue, which was related to a hardware compression error.

What I would suggest though, as TRS2006 does not have an option to disable hardware compression, is to try OpenGL instead of DirectX or vice versa, and also to update your graphics card and DirectX files (see http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=58843 for instructions on how to update DirectX files)

Thanks for reply I will see my computer guru friend and tell him your remedy. What exactly is hardwarwe Compression Thanks again hope It will be all okay.

Hardware compression, or hardware accelerated texture compression as it is known, is a feature in later Trainz version that supposedly speeds up commiting of assets by getting the graphics card to do the required compressing of the textures in assets so they can be used.

From what I remember, it was added in TS2009 and later versions.

Needless to say though, you will not need to worry about it in TRS2006, as it does not include that option from what I've seen (if it did, it would be on the Miscellaneous tab in the Settings box in Content Manager)
