ASSETS TURNING RED IN SURVEYOR

i cannot get any of my recent downloads from the DLS to work in 2012, and notice that when I click on the surveyor liist to choose my assets for a consist, they all appear in red and are not useable.

Another thing that has happened is that if I have been in Content in the start menu, and go to Import CDP's, and then come into surveyor, half of the ready installed assets that come with TRS2012 have done the same, and are totally useless. As all of us know that when we see an item that has come up red, clicking on them makes them appear pink, but still they are no good.

One has to uninstall Trains, go back and delete the directory N3V, re-install trainz againi to start from scratch.

Will the new patch for TRS 12 fix this?...or is that another problem associated with the new TRS12?

Is there something else I need to download to fix and eliminate all of these problems?

I have made sure that any of the assets I have downloaded from the DLS are the newest and most recent versions of the same items, not the old ones that have a date of 2003 or 2004 or something, but stilll. I cannot get these new downloads to work, they just come up red in surveyor, and cause half of the inbuilt content to also appear red in the surveyor list.

A lot of assets are broken, which is why they'll show as red. The reason why is that newer versions of Trainz are less tolerant of errors in content. Nearly all of these errors are very minor, but some of them could exact an enormous performance penalty. There is a major program underway to fix this called the DLS Cleanup, but the cleanup will not fix contents located on third-party sites, obviously.

Your options are to either learn to fix content yourself or to wait for it to be updated. Fixing content is fun and quite satisfying in itself, so it wouldn't be a bad skill to learn.

Another problem that can crop up, especially after a database repair or installation of a patch, is that content is erroneously marked as faulty. In the TS2010 forum is a sticky with a procedure to address this at the top of the forum.

How do you fix? I downloaded Superliner IV and IVbs from Amtrak Trainz Group and some P42DCs with the Northeast Corridor scheme and the exact same thing happens. Also how do you fix the content? PS: I also have Trainz 2006, Driver, and 2010. I lost their Serial Numbers. PSS: This is for Trainz 2012's Northeast Corridor and everything is downloaded from Amtrak Trainz Group.
