Are these laptops suitable for Trainz TS12 with these video cards & CPU?

Oh rats, loosing all the post & now I can't remember what I typed!

Some notes first
These are mainly for laptops, and the Trainz wouldn't be installed.

I've also noticed that the Toshiba small computers that can be inbetween a tablet or small laptop get too hot, and others have stated to stay away from Toshiba. But one thing, most cases, they are lighter than other similar sized brands.

I've seen here somewhere that I can't find at the moment, where Trainz may have trouble with a certain NVidia video card number, but I forget which one

All these below are for dedicated graphics

First, I've seen some CPU's that use the various names such as A-8, 10 & now E-1. Are these equivalent or more than i7 (i5 as a minimum)

+ NVidia GeForce GT 720M with 2GB.
+ nVIDIA GeForce GT 745M 2GB With Optimus
+ AMD Radeon HD 7670M 2GB Graphics
+ Intel HD Graphics 3000

But I know their is a site which lists the AMD cards, but is their a site that lists the equivalent between various brands of video cards?

I'm actually not sure which models (if ANY) you were actually asking about, but since this thread is out there, I'm looking for a replacement for my old decrepit Macbook. (Thank goodness my wife doesn't feel the same about her old decrepit husband) Looking at Alienware 14 and 17's, Toshiba Qosmio X70, and whatever else will do the job. I want something that will actually RUN Trainz as well as kick butt with 3ds Max and Photoshop CS5 (at the same time maybe?? It cripples my Macbook) X70 has GeForce 770M while the Alienware 14 only has the GT 750M (with the GTX 765M as a MUCH more expensive option) I have to admit I'd RATHER have a 14" than a 17", but I want something that will handle what I do with it where I don't end up sitting around doing so much of nothing.

Of course, if anyone has any better suggestions, I'm all ears. I've been a Mac person for years, but sadly this one will be the last one.

In your first sentence you reference AMD and Intel processors respectively. These are different from and independent of the graphic cards you list above. In fact both Nvidia and AMD graphic cards would work well with Trainz, but I advise staying away from the HD Graphics 3000 or anything that says "integrated" or IGP.

I know it is advised to stay away from Intel when it comes to trainz but recently, Intel has been coming out with newer IGP's. They recently came out with the 5000 series IGP and according to "notebook check", the Intel HD 5000 series seems to be directly behind AMD's Radeon HD 7660G and 7650M overall.

I am running TS2010 and TS2012 on a laptop with Windows8. I was apprehensive but the products loaded quickly and the SP for both programs loaded well. But it has been mentioned, make all *.exe files start with "Run As Administrator" in the properties block. That will help ensure (almost) problem free running of the Trainz programs. (and good luck!)

I would think they would be. I just recently bought a laptop that cost $400 at BestBuy and Trainz12 and other games run very well in Med/High Settings no problem glitch frame drop.
My computer model is an HP-Pavilion g7-2341dx 4GB RAM upgrade to 8GB, AMD A8-4500M Quad Core 1.9Ghz and when needed or demanded the cores speed will boost to 2.7 or 2.9Ghz and I've seen this laptop go to as high as 4.27 Ghz(not overclocked) and still run fluent. My graphics cars is a 7640g Discrete

I just bought a Dell Studio 1558 on Ebay on behalf of a pal then upgraded it to 8GB of 1600mhz RAM. I never did a trial of Trainz on it but I would imagine it would do well as it had an i5 CPU and an ATI 545v GPU.
