Apple Inc. has just announced that Steve Jobs has died at the age of 56.

All in the world who use Apple products and the things he and Apple Inc. have created will miss his creative ability.

May he be in peace.

Regards,

No, I'm not intending to be disrespectful, may he and his loved ones be at peace.

But; as far as we know, no amount of ingenuity nor wealth has yet managed to stymie the reaper...

That is very true - and something he knew and understood. To paraphrase 'live everyday as if it's your last' was something he said.

An interesting person who mixed up the computer, music and film industries. RIP

(and for the record, I am not an apple evangelist - I have a monster windows PC but also an Ipad and ipod but am a Unix person at the core)

Only if the thread has not been replied to, that is. It will not change the thread title if the thread has been replied to. Only a moderator can change it in that case, I believe.

What a shame and surprise for Steve to pass away, too early at that. May his family and friends find peace in God.

Regards,

Retro.

I was actually going to post a thread on this too, but I didn't know where to post it:hehe:. I found out about this trying to find out when IOS 5 will be released. At least he got to see this awesome new upgrade. I know I can't wait for it. By the way there is some stuff about him here: http://www.apple.com/

I guess I'm not a tech person. I don't own a single Apple product nor have I ever used one, but it's sad that the world has lost such an obvious genius. Prayers for him and his family.

Title changed by request of the OP.

Steve Jobs was an innovator and a corporate maverick. He dared to be different and it worked.

Cheers

AJ

It's sadly ironic though that I first read about his passing on Microsoft's news page this morning.

I knew he was very ill but his passing is still a shock (and no, I'm not an Applephile - I prefer PCs myself, but he definitely helped influence the application and use of information technology to how it is today.) Either way, this is very sad news. :(

Rest in peace Steve.

I've been working in, on, and with computers since 1975 (one year before Apple was founded), and ITunes is the only Apple product I use. All of my experience has been with PC's and mainframes, and I have yet to get into smartphones.

None of that information matters, of course. What matters is that the world has lost a tech visionary, a tech innovator, and a guy has died way before his time.

May he rest in pain-free peace.

It saddens me to see that someone who helped allow to make personal computers has died. (Please correct me if my facts are wrong)
