Anything About the American Trainz content

New website is up & running. www.americantrainz.com

We're still migrating some content, but we have an alternate access for un-migrated content.
The site looks great @PerRock (y)

I see you play Star Trek Online? I was into it a few years back, active in the top two fleets at the time, but gave up on it, due to constant in-fighting amongst the fleet leaders. Too much drama, LOL.
One of the Fleets was Klingon, and the other Starfleet. I can't remember the Fleet names anymore. I also played alot on Xbox. This was back when the 1st of the Next Generation expansions were coming into play. I still pop in once in a while, just to shoot stuff and run missions/events and the like.

I'll pop-into the game, and see of I can find the names, I still have some of the Fleet leaders on my friends list, I think.

I play on PC (so no cross-play between XBox & PC); and have my own fleet I started with a friend many years ago. These days they fleet is essentially dead, but I hang onto on the off chance I find some people to want to help revitalize it.

THATS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT LES GO!

hey Perrock, I tried downloading the the P40's in Phase III and it says the file cannot be downloaded securely, uh is there a way to fix that

also the P40's I put into Trainz have missing dependencies in which two are unknown assets.

That usually means the site is still using http instead of https, so is insecure. You can usually bypass the warning. In Edge, click on the right side and select "keep", and then choose "keep anyway" on the next warning. There are similar ways in Chrome and Firefox.

also Forester I am trying to guess the unknown assets that the engines use (made by Perrock)

also the two unknown assets were made by gumbytrain iirc

my apologies @ricomon35 about that also @Forester1 the KUID's of said assets are <kuid:52779:54000> and <kuid:52779:50002>, might be the same KUID's missing in Perrocks other P40/P42's

I don't have <kuid:52779:50002>. <kuid:52779:54000> AC44 horn sound. No indication where it comes from, but there should be others out there.

@Forester1 imma check cause I am confused honestly, would I need to download routes or engines just to find those
P.S: tried looking on the DLS and found nothing.

<kuid:52779:54000> AC44 horn sound is actually an old version 1.3 asset. There is <kuid:522774:100129> AC44 horn sound 2.9 on the DLS, which is version 2.9. There are also all these below:
<kuid:140046:100369> CSX AC4400CW Horn
<kuid:65940:54321> GE AC4400 horn
<kuid:140046:100701> Ferromex AC4400CW Horn
<kuid:140046:101391> NS AC44C6M Horn
<kuid:140046:100727> KCS AC4400CW Horn
<kuid:140046:101012> CSX AC4400CW Horn
<kuid:800145:100358> CNW AC4400CW K5HR24 Hornsound
<kuid:140046:101206> NS AC44C6M Horn #2

There are gazillions of assets built in or on the DLS that are suitable replacements. Download a P42 from Dave Snow and use the installed assets from his locomotive. The only ones you may have trouble with are the bogeys because they seem to have issues with positioning, but everything else is easily replaced.

Perrocks P42s look way much better TBH. I checked the American Trainz Group site and the dependencies for the P42s are not even there they dont even come with them
The following assets are not found:
Unknown Location: <kuid:52779:50002>
Unknown Location: <kuid:52779:54000>

These kuids are nowhere to be found at all so they would be at the old trainz commuter rail site.
Some of them might I Just thought that link would help the american trainz group recover

I checked the P42 bogies that Perrock used and previewed them in TRS2019 — they look fine to me, and the positioning seems acceptable for now.

One missing asset appears to be AC44 horn sound 2.9, which is available on the DLS. Since the original source is long gone, that dependency could be replaced or not. but I think the Original is better

do we just delete
these assets which are nowhere to be seen? or keep them because I know Ac44 horn sound 2.9 is on the DLS and that asset can be replaced or not.

Any replacements are a start. As time goes on, you'll find a replacement for your replacement and update the horn again.

Before removing any assets referenced in the config.txt, you need to check what it is. The horn for example is something that is easily found. The other asset may be replaceable or if not and may end up being something that's needed to make the asset work.

If you do decide to remove the asset from the config.txt, you need to remove the kuid not only the tags and containers, but you also need to remove them from the kuid-table, otherwise the asset will still be referenced.
