Anyone have an Allegheny?

You're right Peter, they're not on the DLS. However CMP shows that they're on the DLS, but they can't be downloaded, just like wridenour said. I can't seem to find those missing assets on American_Connection's website either.

50111 is on his site under bogeys

I'd assume that 54000 is the engine; listed on this "motors" page

1. The I can't open the motors page.
2. When I download the invisible bogey, it downloads as an "Unknown File Type" not a CMP.

I see I got a few things to fix here.:( 54000 is a motor, but the wrong one. And I see what you mean about the bogeys, why I do not know; all were made the same way, but guess I have to redo most of the zips on the first page. I'll tackle the bogeys in the morn!:wave:
 
What's not in a name!

Found the error to bogeys, some links did not state the file type, not sure why! So got that part fixed now. Also see that to have a complete all-in-one download, I need two engine configs and the invisible bogey included, which will make the file too large I think, but I try to repack that now.

You don't need it, was my error in config. Delete the old asset and get the new zip, it should just open without to search for anything as it includes everything (I hope), and is a smaller download even! If you really want the trumpet, it's in the Components page.
 
Hello American_Connections,

I have just downloaded the new zip files for the Allegheny and everything imported fine, no missing dependencies at all. However, I came across something interesting.

Here you see the boiler, the front drivers, and the locomotive rear coupler disconnected. These three items showed up as separate assets in the Railyard.

I do realize that all those can be put together as seen here (just to let you know, the tender had no issues):

I'm not sure if this was intended, but I would suggest that maybe you should put those three items in the first screen together as one. :hehe:

This is intended so that all wheels and couplers stay inline with track, since the total of the locomotive is so long, epecially the rear of boiler unit swings so wide that a coupler on it swings over the width of the tender. Even tried to put coupler on trailing truck, but still it not track right. Also the seperation of the two driver units create a very distinctive sound and realisitc driver wheel slip.
If it were all one unit it would act like the bigboy from Auran, and I wanted it the look as real as possible!
The big question is- does it work for you?

Kudos to American Connections for releasing this requested locomotive. He may think it wrong of me to poke fun at spelling mistakes on the forum, but that's certainly within his rights.

I remember when he first started posting here on the forums...:o ...but he has come into his own as a Trainzer and a content creator! All the while I have just retreated, rather than advanced!:eek:

I have no problem with that. :D I just ran the locomotive and it seems to move very well. Great job! And now that I think about it, good idea for making those three items as separate assets. It runs fine that way. :)

I must say that the volume of the engine sound is good. That's one problem I have with many of the Steam locos for Trainz, they have such a quiet engine sound. That is not a problem here. We get to hear the engine in all it's glory. I also like the separate engine pieces. That was a great idea for having the wheels sound and work realistically.

BTW, I tried placing the pieces on the track in the order you said, and it still didn't work...

I have one question for anyone reading this thread: would it be possible to give this a steam engine spec and use the generic steam cab with it? I know the multiple piece thing causes problems with all the drivers being controlled by the controls, but is it possible with a script?

Fix 1

It has been recommended to change the entry in the Rear coupler config file "tag" mass from 0kg. to 100kg. for the Loco to perform in TRS'06. Those that have downloads can try this and I have changed here for the coming update.
 
BLACK is a no no in Trainz

The locomotive (Trainz creations in general) should not be dark BLACK, but should be a slightly lighter color, as all the details are hidden by the dark black. And weathering would help bring out more of the details.
 
I do have to agree. The color is too dark. It makes the loco look incomplete, smooth and detailless, when it really isn't very nice work by the way.
