Anyone Do Maine Central

ApproachMedium

Youtube dude
I've seen some nice Boston & Maine loco's for Trainz, but does anyone do reskins for the Maine Central RR? Some of their nice Green and Harvest Gold RS-2's, -3's and 11's, or the GP-7's or GP-38's? I wish I knew how to reskin because this is a great colorful RR to model. I personally model it in N-Scale currently but it'd be great to run some trains on the area's of the RR I can't physically model lol.

George, I have your RS-3 and it is spectacular! I wish there was more like that available. The MEC had RS-11's in a similar scheme. I wish I had a whole roster lol. That's probably a lot to ask. Which is why I wish I could reskin myself.

I once had so many MEC pieces on my PC they drove me nuts, and I had to get rid of them. I'm pretty sure I got them when I downloaded an MEC route from the DLS, and a session that installed all the rolling stock. I would look harder on the DLS were I you.

I had the route gandy-dancer did for Maine in TRS2004 many years ago, he kept expanding the same layout, it was a big favourite of mine from the USA, try this link - http://www.auran.com/TRS2004/DLS_viewasset.php?AssetID=42890
it did contain some payware assets, but I just deleted them, it didn't have any effect on operating the route at all.

He also did loads of locomotives in the green and gold MC livery as well for this map.

Majekear did some boxcars as well for Maine, have a look for his kuid 56063 in the rolling stock section.

Yeah I have all of the MEC rolling stock available and I have downloaded the route suggested above but found it not prototypical, same with the loco's. The paint schemes used are a poor representation of the actual MEC schemes. My type of modeling is very prototypical and I don't settle for less, call me a stickler but that's what I like, a good representation of the prototype. Anyway I'm working on a track for track layout of the MEC as we speak. We'll see how it turns out lol. That's really what spawned this post.

Joe, it sounds like you should get into the reskinning end of things!

Ex, my "Poop" project is suffering from constipation, brought on by the alpha channel problems in 2009. Thanks for asking.

My suggestion is to invest in photoshop. Then, after learning to use it, read some of the reskinning tutorials that are available. I might reskin a few locos in the MEC scheme when I get a new computer, but as for now, I am just working on CV, B&M, and the MAGC(Mayburry Gravel Company.) along with some classic CP and CN power for effect. Some random MEC power would be pretty nice though, especially the RS11s.

Sigh, I wish my computer hadn't died.

Oh dear Ed, that sounds very serious young man. I have some sympathy with you as I suffered the same last weekend, I'll have to stop eating curries.....:hehe:

Where are the ReSkin tutorials?!!

So I've been trying to figure out how to reskin and I know at some point I read a tutorial on it somewhere on this site. Unfortunately the search feature on this forum is practically useless. Anyone know of any posts with links to reskin tutorials?
