Kiwi Trainzer/Planezer
Hello all,
Does anyone know of a locomotive that looks similar to this (in Trainz)?

These are the first of the new locomotives sourced for KiwiRail from Dalian Locomotive and Rolling Stock Company in China.

Thanks for any help,
nzms

I have this one in my busy workshop, but it will be some time before I have it "Trainz ready", so if you don't mind waiting. I know this is not the right topic for this forum, but as I have your attention - Are there any Kiwi Trainzers near TeRapa who could get me good square on sideshots of the DL bogies/underside? As you can see from my pic bogies are required.
Cheers, Fender :)

Wow :udrool:,
That looks great! Will be well worth the wait.

I don't live near Te Rapa but I live along the line the new loco's will be running on. As they will start running soon (if you don't have any pics by then) I can go and take a couple for you.

Cheers,
nzms

Man those things are ugly. I prefer your EMD and GE locos personally. From what I heard these things are having issues with reliability, and the second order has been postponed.

Nice 3D model btw.

Rubbish mate. They havn't done anything yet.

Havn't even gone into service yet, they are still having the oil tanks filled up and commisoned, with some driver trainning, thats about it.

Second order posponed, don't think so, have you got a link to that news I'd be interested to see that.

Cheers

Lots

WHY WHY WHY

Are we getting out Loco's and or rolling stock made in another Country???
More to the point why are we changing the shape of our loco's when we have Good looking DC's and 2100 class has everyone gone completely mad???
Bring back the old lookind "DA'S" you know the red ones...

The first batch of 6 locomotives arrived in New Zealand on the 20 November, and were moved to Hamilton three days later where the commissioning and driver training process will take place. The remaining 14 are due to arrive early in 2011 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NZR_DL_class - This is alittle background as to where they will be running...

It was the KTM Class 29's that they had all the problems with initially in Malaysia (2005 - 2006); http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KTM_Class_29

Ah, okay.

I have to say, I feel sorry for anyone in a collision in one of those things. Looks like they will be the first one at the scene of the accident.

I'm Sorry but they have to be the most uglyest Loco's I have ever seen
I say bring back the MIGHTY DA<DX<DC<DJ<DF may God bless them all

Hi there,

Brand new Trainz Virgin here - but very excited about new DL's and work 'over the fence' from Te Rapa yard - have been watching them with much excitement.

Will have a crack at some decent pics for you and be in touch,

Cheers.

As promised, I called in to see the lads at Te Rapa today who kindly let me in for some pics. Let me know if you want a heap more hi-res close ups.

I compiled the top HDR image to try show details but have a few close ups showing some special details, including serial number plate for the bogies, hose connectors etc. Just ask.

Am happy to post entire collection on my website if needed.

A Big TYK

Thankyou NZ Railways for those pics - extremely helpful. I will get in to this straight after the Christmas break. Also, welcome to the world of "Trainz".
Cheers, Fender :)

Hi Fender849,

I've been a bit slow, but have uploaded a few more (better?) pics of the bogies - have a lot of hi-res pics of various elements if you'd like for textures etc (hoses, badges etc etc). Let me know if there's anything you're missing - more than happy to pop down and try again.

Photos are hi-res - so recommend broadband connection:

Website is otherwise empty as it's awaiting rebuilding...

Holy cremola. They're not locos, they're munters end on! Side profile isn't too bad though.
