Wondering does anyone know where I might find any empty layouts... Where the only thing that is done is the surface ie.. the ground tress and such...... That I might be able to lay my own track, set assets and buildings?

I would want this on a larger size

layout

It kind of hard to put track in after all the other's have been put in. Not a route builder myself, but i think that the track has to lay ed first then trees and such put in after. Go a head and lay your track then put in your trees,INDs,bears and hills and so on.

I have d/l a trio of empty layouts, for the route between Portland and Seattle. And I have seen many others, by Trainblankroutes.com. NOTE: These do NOT have any terrain features like grass or rock, no trees, no roads, just complete blank boards but with proper grades and contours.

Another note: As I have been working on building my line from Portland south, I have as yet to do anything with the three Washington blanks, but thought I would at least let you know they and others are out there.

Fishlipsatwork DEM's are on DLS and here: http://www.gaurc.us/?page_id=160

Hey there thank you for the info :)

Both 'fishlipsatwork" and "smooz" have made some great terrain only layouts/files. Like WillPac, I have been working on the northern part of the Seattle to Portland trilogy by smooz. These will keep you busy for months, maybe years.

There is a Feather River DEM that has the Kedie Wye & Williams Loop.

There also is a finished Feather River route.

You could also delete track arrangements on the Teehachapi Loop route or NEC route, and redo it more prototypicaly.
