Any boats on stilts? For placing on docks or in boat yards?

Not sure what the term is but stilts is pretty obvious to what I mean.

Tried DLS, no luck.

I want to populate a dock which looks bland and grey at present.

If not available I wonder if someone could make one, it could just be the stilts the boat stands on and then use it for any boat found on the DLS.

Any idea?

What might work is a spline of supports that you could then set your desired boat on.

Hi David

I’ve done something along the lines you’ve described using domsarto’s DS Fence pole end (kuid 342053:25604). It’s a good one to use because you can tilt as well as rotate it. Thanks Dom!

I also use Dinorius_Redundicus’ Derelict barrels, of which there are several to choose from. Thanks Deane!

Please don’t tell the Health & Safety Executive though. This type of blocking off has been banned in UK boatyards for several years now!

Those barrels look a bit rusty though. I don't reckon they'll last the winter.

Might be necessary to lower the boat and put in a couple of Deane's flattened versions instead!

Might be a US/UK thing, but in drydocks and on land, those are called 'keelblocks' or 'bilgeblocks' depending on whether they are directly under the keel or out at the sides. :wave:

Apologies for bumping!

I happened upon a little image which brought back memories of this thread and the pleasure I’ve had from so many of the marine related Trainz assets.

The name found on the transom of at least one of the sailing boats, made by a prolific contributor to the forum is quite amusing if you look closely. You know who you are you bad boy!
