An invisible green signal?

Hi all

I'm posting to ask if there is an invisible green signal anywhere? I know there's a signal called tram signal green (or something similar) featured on the Modula City route, however I tried to clone it to add the tag 'invisible in driver' to it and it came up with a load of errors because it's built-in and missing a load of textures and all sorts. Is there a way around this, or should I just try downloading the asset from the DLS and trying to change the kuid before importing it to the CMP?

Another option if you don't want to edit a built-in asset is to try an asset called Signal Invisible. It's KUID is <KUID2:53425:10001:1> and it's an asset from TRS2004.

If you only want it to have a green aspect, you will need to edit it's config file (specifically the signals container).

If you do choose to use that method, I can sort it step by step.

Firstly though, I would suggest if you want to use Signal Invisible, check if it's already installed first. If not, download it first.

I already have the Invisible Signal :) I have been using it, however I need a signal that will give the impression of Line of Sight operations, and so I'm thinking a green signal at the start of Line of Sight sections will give this impression and allow trams to operate close together :)

Jack

Well, they won't be operating that close together. A station will, in theory, have between 30 and 40 trams per hour, meaning roughly a tram between every 2 minutes and 1 minute 30 seconds.

As for that link, it was very interesting however my brain is unable to decode that to put it into a signal to keep the signal green :(

No problem. You only need state 8 in the signal to just have a 'green' signal - I would advise that you clone the signal first just in case, and work on the clone.

Shane

P.S. In short (this is only the common ones)

State 0 - danger/stop (usually red)
State 1 - permissive (usually red)
State 4 - caution (usually yellow)
State 7 - advance caution (usually yellow or double yellow, only usually crops up in signals with 4 aspects or more)
State 8 - line clear (usually green)

Just did a quick test on my tram line, it worked perfectly, thank you Shane! :)

As for separation, the proceed-only signals will only be placed at the start of segregated Line of Sight sections. I'm hoping that the tram will detect when there is a tram infront and will hopefully slow down so as not to hit it. On street-running sections I will have ATLS and standard tram signals in the correct places. Standard tram signals will be good at separating trams a bit. Most ATLS signals will be set to 'Force Go' anyway (the only exceptions being ones with a stop on the opposite side of a road as that would result in a tram passing through the signal and then straddling the road if there was another tram already at the stop). On segregated sections I'm also going to put standard Tram signals protecting both trailing and facing crossovers with a proceed signal placed a few hundred metres further on, which will also help separate trams :)

No problem. I've been known to play with signal aspects, and have some interesting ones on my route (including flashing aspects and speed-restricting signals)
