Amtrak trains in movie

I watched "Everybody's Fine" about a father visiting his children after he found out that they couldn't visit him. When he took Amtrak trains from one city to other, there were a few passengers in the car that he was riding in. Did the movie producer reserve cars on Amtrak trains or do people rather fly than to take buses and trains?

probably chartered a train, the ones I have been on are almost always packed

Actually, they might have created a set that looks like the inside of an Amtrak coach, then place green screen outside of the windows, and projected video of moving scenery, giving the illusion of it being an actual train (I don't know about trains, but they do this for cars and airplanes in movies)
