Amtrak Revitalization Project - Large Pictures Ahead

Just for comparison to the SDP40F here's the Pooch that was in one of the picture links earlier. Not really actively working on it.

It does, but your mileage will vary. You're better off doing it yourself and saving the smart projection for simple objects.

Opus722: I have been closely following your progress on the Amtrak Pullman coaches and you have amazing work. At some point, I hope I can grasp how to use the blender or other graphic animation programs to create some really good looking Metro North rollingstock and possibly locomotives. The past couple of months, I've been getting a better handle on using Autocad.

I mean, if you've already invested in 3DSMax you probably should stick with that. Just depends on what you want to do. Blender works for me since I've been using it for years to make simple models for other games back when Gmax was the standard. Blender has come a long way since then, but it's what I cut my teeth on. It's great for hobby-level modelers like myself that have no aspirations to get a job in the 3D industry or even do this on a commercial basis.

Anyways, didn't really plan on working on this so much, but sometimes you just have to run with it when the motivation is there.

That SDP40F is coming along nicely opus! I can't wait to get my hands on (if you release them that is) the HEP heritage cars for my late 80s early 90s IC route.

Consists I'm shooting for right now are stuff that ran over the RF&P in the mid to late 1970s. A route from Washington Union Station to Richmond Broad Street or Richmond Main Street Station prior to the closing of those stations would be my dream. Even if I'll never have the route I can still have the trains!

@mickey186 I'm sorry but you and sailor mars. I call shenanigans. How did that happen?

Don't ask. She and I have been together for 3 years.

opus, Think this'll be a opportunity to take photos? It'll be a great ideal to your research on those 'vintage' Amtrak cars (even the dome cars).

Now that sounds like a route I just may have to do, the RF&P Sub back when it was the RF&P! Great work man!

These aren't cabviews, but rather the interiors that will be visible through the windows of the cars. Can't really see them in the renders I've posted.
