I did that before we knew what the side looks like.

You make that ???

I do say that it looks nice, but I think that the F40PH that they will do will probably look cooler.
PerRock, that is still pretty good.

Caught it at Rockville Station (second to last stop for the Limited), and sure enough it was in the lead. It really is a nice paint scheme

I hope they leave it like that.....

I also hope it does not catch fire.....Peter knows what I am talking about...

Not a big fan of the paint scheme to be honest with ya. I think it would've been nice to repaint it into the original Phase III scheme, but alas we got Phase III a la F40PH style.

Oh well...can't get everything you want can ya?

I kinda like it, but yea the public has no choice lol...

#156, is actually going to be repainted, they messed up something on the logo.

They are also going to paint #210 in phase II
#117 in IV
#163 in V (not sure if this is going to be different then the current)
as well as #822 in III (now out & in DC)
there is also a small fleet of converted baggage cars in III as well as an F40PH. These will make up a special Museum train.

Are you sure we're looking at the same engine? I think the P42 does the Ph I scheme justice. It's definitely better than that godawful Ph V crap they've got now.

I havn't posted on this forum in about a billion years, but thanks for posting my photo ;)

wilh, I'd like to know more about these FP45 units in your sig

Not FP45s. And actually I can answer more questions about them then he can. I built them. They are Amtrak SDP40F's, based off the EMD SD 40-2, delivered in 1973 and retired in 1979ish when the F40's came around.

Since only a few lasted until 1979, only a few ever received Phase III paint, I went a step farther, and added HEP ports and removed the steam generator effects and added required ditch lights to bring them into the 21st century. I'm a ScFi fan, so think "Alternate Reality"

I don't have them on my website yet, but TCR has them hosted

http://trainzcommuterrail.co.cc/index/

Go to Downloads, click the picture of the diesel locomotive, and scroll down to the Amtrak SDP40F pack. Also, go back to the main downloads page, click on the bridge, and download the Leslie SL4-T horn sound, its required to make the early units work, everything else should be on the DLS. I don't know how well they work above TRS2006, but they should work somewhat in 09, since thats what my tester used

Ah, my bad - I could never keep the F45 / FP45 / SDP40F straight. Those look pretty sharp though. Some people really get their trousers in a knot over 'foobies' but like you said, I happen to find the 'Alternate Realities' quite entertaining. There's some really awesome ideas out there.
