Amtrak NextGen Acela Debuts on August 28 - Amtrak Media

Starting Thursday, Aug. 28, customers can travel on Amtrak’s NextGen Acela – America’s high-speed train – connecting the Northeast Corridor between Washington, D.C., New York City, and Boston.

Would love to try it out. Wish they could get something out west here. Maybe between Seattle and Portland or San Francisco to LA. And of course here in Boise some of us are just hoping we can get rail service back. It was a hope with Biden's infrastructure bill, but not sure where things stand now.

Funding from the infrastructure bill should be releasing now, there have been a fair bit of construction projects that have been delayed depending on market uncertainties or other complications. Best bet is to check the fiscal reports of your state department of transportation to see if the project is funded or planned. Usually funding and applications thereof are published in year end reports or quarterly reports. You'd be able to see if there's any railroad improvement or funding to be spent in the next few years that way.

That has definitely had the funds shifted to different projects. It was announce a few weeks ago. Having 1000% cost projections over budget estimates will do that.
