All the drivers are real people. This was a problem for Alistair because his driver character was the first on the list, so was the default driver and got the blame for the problems caused by the Artificial Stupidity that runs the trainz in Driver. He eventually changed his user name.
I believe he was one of the Trainz Heroes who passed away last year. We lost a few of the greats.
