Ais Gill: Hawes Junction revamp

Hi guys

I've had a sparce presence on the forums the last 5 years (which is none at all) and those who even remember me know I created primarily sets based off of Thomas and Friends

Well I have graduated from those times and learned how to properly export models in both nonPBR and PBR format. Yay!

Wanted to show something that I've played with for years: a revamp of the old Hawes Junction route from Trainz 2006.

I spoke with one of the original builders of the route back in 2019, and got permission and education on what this project was and what it was supposed to be.

To be clear, I am not substantially changing anything from the old route, just bringing it up to TRS22 standards. This will mean some fixing and redoing areas. The thing was made back in 2006 so although its a great route, it's not entirely as accurate as it could be.

My exporting skills mean I can make specific buildings and assets to complete this route which is very exciting.

It will be available sometime this year on my website:

It's a lot of work for just one person but I'm taking my time. Want to do it right.

Finding the right reference material is important; learned that the hard way today.

Found out I was recreating a completely different line; not even related to this one.

Problem solved:
(still have to find assets that fit the look and the quality standards I have, or else I have to make them myself)

What a difference nearly 20 years makes with the quality of the content. This is really, really well done. I can't imagine what the rest of the Settle and Carlisle can look like with a bit of a rebuild to this level.
What surprises me is no one has really tried in all that time. There's been a few V2s and such but nothing to this scale.

Progress for the day.

Last picture is of Dent Station. I am completely redoing this area. Feel free to view your own version of Hawes Junction to see just how drastically this area will change.

I'm also looking for PBR UK Steam to increase my computer's storage drive. Either there is a serious lack of them, or I'm not looking in the right spots.

I always liked S&C. When I was on holiday in the U.K. back in 2010 I deliberately chose a road route to visit Hawes. Sadly there was nothing left of the track and the town was full of motorbikes! It is very beautiful country around there - on a sunny day!
