AI trains

Hi rhban - I am just like you in that I want to either ride the trains, or just watch them. TRS22 has been absolutely no problem for me however, there appears to be a significant difference between us ...... you are on a Mac. I would like to think that the Trainz folk will resolve this for you as (relatively speaking) Mac versions are quite new. All the best. Colin

I know no other Driver. And anyway, since I want to tell the AI where my trains are to go, that has always been in session editing. I do not want to manually drive my trains.
However, the mystery remains: where is this mysterious Driver that you are talking about?
I may have to take Stagecoach's advice and redownload TRS2022.

Hopefully a fresh install will work however, I can assure you that the facility exists to create your own train route in the Change Session screen:

Edit Menu > Edit Session > Driver Setup > Edit

Of course the above pre-supposes that you have locos already in the Session. All the best. Colin.

While waiting for a reply to my Ticket, I have finally found Driver Settings: unfortunately, it doesn't seem to actually do anything.

Scroll up and look for Driver Setup.

What you are seeing here is for the interface at the lower part of the screen.

Thanks for the details, but that does not seem to be available to me. Auran (I submitted a ticket for help) said I should download a later version of TRS2022, but now I'm having password problems - my password gives me access to Trainz Portal and to Forums but not apparently to downloads.. They gave me a lot of guff about accessing certain ports, but that was not the problem.
So, I think I just have to give up on Trainz - they had better not ask for a renewal of the Gold Ticket at the end of 12 months.

rhban - your password to log in to MyTrainz is the same as the one to log in to the Trainz game. What was/is the problem? Which link are you trying to download? What goes wrong?

Obviously all we can do here is test that the systems are working as expected. If they aren't working for you we can guess at some outcomes (such as some sort of block to our IP at your end).

Your image shows you have opened trainz settings and not edit sessions.
Click on the second icon and the drop-down will have an edit session, this is where the driver set up is located.

As I said, my password works for Trainz Portal and for Forums, but Patch Installer won't accept it. I have tried what I remember of old passwords, but I think they were associated with a different email address anyway. Whatever, nothing I try, can make Patch Installer work - the odd thing is that to reach that far, I had already had to enter my password, which worked for that part of the program.

Any strange characters in your password? Non-English? The patch installer is a different application so may handle something a little differently.

You can also skip patching and download the latest version to replace your existing install. (You'd need to then point your new install to your old local data folder).

Your route downloaded and edit session and driver set up show harry. Click on add driver brings up a list of drivers. deleted the fill empty trains block OK. Untick delete driver first. The only tick should be on the vision on the first loco.

OK, after slightly editing the Driver Rule by removing some of the tick, I now have a driver in my train, but I can't see how to get to the part where I tell the driver where to go. This used to be second nature to me when I last used Trainz (actually TANE) a couple of years ago, but I can't seem to get to it now.
Still having no luck updating from 115635 to 115925. The Patch Installer denies my existence.

For quick running in Driver, click on the 3 dots in the lower right corner to change the interface from Cab-mode to DCC to Driver commands. Just as in TANE, you add in the commands here.

For a permanent schedule, you need to edit the driver setup in the session editor. This is exactly as it is in TANE and in prior verions.

That 3 dots thing only appears in a newer version of TSR2022 that I don't have. The driver set up I have looks very much like the old one.

It's in TRS19 as well. The driver interface is exactly the same in both TRS19 and TRS22.

Lower righthand corner you'll see 3 vertical dots. Click on them until the driving-method you want to use appears.

I thought I had been without a computer for 2 years, but time passes to quickly when you're enjoying covid, so I think the final breakdown was toward the end of 2019 when I was still using TANE. I have never tried TRS19.
