AI coupling command and red signal

I apologize if this has been stated elsewhere, but the search function is rendered useless.

The title is pretty self explanatory. When an ai comes to couple to a cut of cars, a red signal may be preventing it to couple. Is there an override command or something similar?

Thx

Andy

Need to add permissive signals as the last signal between the AI and the car to be coupled to.

Permissive double head invisible signal,<kuid:522774:100639>
PON_Dwarf_Signal_USA_L02_Permissive,<kuid:522774:100020>
PON_Dwarf_Signal_USA_02_Permissive,<kuid:522774:100021>

Were made just for that purpose, best to add to the facing point of the switch coming off the mainline into the yard lead or spur. Also a bumper like Signal Rail End USA,<kuid:-1:110007> should be added at the end of every dead end track, yard or spur, so the AI sees a red signal instead of no signal at the very end of the track.

Thanks so much sniper! It works like a charm. I'm wondering about the permissive double head invisible signal, is that double head as in bi-directional? Like if I put it in the center of a signaled yard track, it will work for both directions?

Thanks again dude!

No, it's the same as the other double heads, one head for the main and the other for the diverge. Only difference is it's invisible for people who don't want visible signals in certain places. Want to signal both directions gotta place one, use the rotate tool to face it the other way, then place another one. Same for the visible signals. Main trick is when the AI has a "couple at trackmark" instruction, the last signal he passes before getting to the trackmark should be permissive since it will be red when the switches are aligned for the track occupied by the loose consist.

Is there a script that will actually set the state of a signal upon a trigger command, and then automatically release that signal when passed?

Depends what you want to do with it. Trigger Multiple Signals,<kuid2:116387:26:1> can be set up to do what the label says, trigger a bunch of different signals red when a train enters the trigger radius, automatically released to indicate whatever the track state is after the train leaves the trigger radius.

Chicago Metro 3,<kuid:522774:100015>
That's the route;
Chicago Metro 3 sparks 10,<kuid:522774:100012>
chimet 3 40th 3020,<kuid:522774:100014>
those are the sessions. For the 40th 3020 session go to Western Avenue Interlocking and see how the triggers and signals are set up there;

For the sparks 10 (rapid transit part of the route) check Tower 18, Tower 8, Tower 12, and the three drawbridges over the Chicago River.
