:) Is there a command for repeat, or to repeat a string of commands when setting up AI trainz???

Yes - it is called "repeat" and is found in the command menu along with all the other AI commands. It has to be the last command entered for an AI driver.

That command is nowhere to be found in the command files, or in ad a command?
I'm in TRS 06, I know it was there before, ?? Is there anyway to restore it?

When you click the green tiny icon in the schedule at the end of your commands, repeat should show up in the menu list that appears. Failing that do the dreaded database rebuild, then check it is in the assets list. There is another "enable repeat" which I think is attributable to brummfondel. It does not do the same thing.

What about
KUID2:192081:2:3 (Enable Repeat) that's found on the DLS?

It toggles whether the "repeat" function, which toggles the AI to repeat any foll0owing commands until another repeat command is executed, making the next commands not repeatable.

Hope this helps.:D

As I said, it's not the same thing and is used for scheduling.

Database rebuild can be done from CMP, and select either quick or full from the file menu, either way expect some fun afterwards, as the database is to say the least a bit "flaky" I think the expression is. It may generate other errors that are not in fact errors, but either way it's good to do. If you get errors on consists, simply open them for edit (don't edit them), and immediately commit them. They may simply revert to normal. Or you may just try "revert" if they are showing yellow as built in content.

Do not say I did not warn you!

The "repeat" command is embedded in another script, for which I am searching for you. It is not a seperate script like the other driver commands. It is possible that the script concerned has become corrupt, and may need a patch. If I find it I will let you know.

OK so the script associated with the repeat command is "drivercommands.gs" which should reside in the scripts folder in the main folder. It is not to be confused with drivercommand.gs or driverschedulecommand.gs. The "repeat" is in fact embedded in the script.

If you are missing this file, then maybe we can replace it somehow.

No - I think you must refer to something else. Repeat as used in schedules, has no asset. I forms part of the menu system for drivercommands.gs

I Found Driver commands in C:/programfiles/auran/TRS2006/librarys
and a text file C:/programfiles/auran/TRS2006/scripts
I could send either and have you take a look?

I too have lost my Command to "Repeat". I do think it's time that the Trainz people got someone to produce an authoritative manual of all the well-established facts and techniqes available to deal with at least the basic problems encountered in Trainz. I realize that any growing field, as Trainz is, can never be thoroughly pinned down, but apart from sporadic tutorials and advice articles (some indeed very useful) the only manual I can find which attempts to be thorough is now 5 years old, and that has no index! Indeed one of the Helpline advisers told me recently that the best way to find answers to questions was through Trial and Error! That's not what I expect from an organization with the reputation of Trainz.
I bought TRS2009 expecting something flexible & fun; it's become a never ending battle.
Any suggestions about the Repeat command problem which doesn't require re-programming below the hood would be well received.
Yours hopefully,
Kihara.

As you are using TS2009 (according to your version roadmap) I would advise an extended database repair, and be prepared to have to reinstall.

Shane

It appears that he has not registered it, which may cause issues further down the line - I think a reinstall is still needed though (and a re-patch if patching was done the first time)

Shane

I think this is why I do not get on well when there are multiple versions involved.

kihara and hoboron, you may both need to reinstall (kihara, it may be worth doing an extended database repair first)

Shane

Hoboron,
I have emailed you the (missing) script file and instructions
Check your spam folder in case of problem.
Bonne soirée
Chris.
PS the script files can be opened in a text reader such as context. They are similar to c++ files.

I am on 2009. This thread is rapidly losing me, though I've done an extended rebuild of the database: it only found 2 errors; is this what I should expect?
I still have no "Repeat" Driver command; also, although there is an icon for "Drive Schedule" it has no discernable effect, just vanishes about 2 seconds after it appears. I'm really fed up having no official guidance about just what I should expect.
Is it possible to Save a Schedule once you have established it, or must it be rebuilt each time you open up Trainz?
