AI and stations

I am trying to use AI with stations but the loco stops at the beginning of the station or if I am using an AJS station the loco stops at the centre of the station. I have changed the station type to terminal but the result is the same. Can anyone help?

A "Drive To" or "Navigate To" command using the name of the station only will usually stop the loco at or near the centre. However, follow this with a "Load" or "Unload" command (with passengers it makes no difference which you use) and it should work with the loco moving to the end of the platform to place the passenger cars alongside the platform.

I don't quite agree with pware. With a 'Drive To' or 'Navigate To' I find that the train stops at the start of the station's active zone, however I completely agree with pware and Shane that you need to follow this with either a 'Load' or 'Unload' command. The train will then stop where the centre of the passenger enabled coaches is approximately at the centre of the station's active zone.

Hmm, I don't want to add to any confusion, but if my memory serves me right, wasn't one supposed to use the command 'Call At' when using Andi's AJS invisible stations instead of 'Drive To' or 'Navigate To'? Or has this changed with the new updates.

AJS stations work with Navigate To/Drive To, Call at, and pguy's Navigate/Drive to Station commands as well (there may be others but those are the ones I've tested).

EDIT: It should also work with Load At, which does not require a Load command to be placed after it.

I've always used "Navigate to " and "Load" with andi's ajs station kit and never had a problem with them. I know you're supposed to use "Call at", but I could never get that to work. Don't know if it's connected at all, but I never had the "failed to stop at station" glitch, either.

You would use the call at if your equipment does not support queues. AJS work great with drive to and load as long as the equipment is set up right and you give the train time to slow down :) .

1. Call-At is exactly the same as Drive-To except for the way that it builds the menu. Any of the 'goto station' commands can be used with my stations.

2. The active zones for my assets are smaller than other stations, so they will be slightly more prone to situations where trains are travelling too quickly to stop. You may need to use speed limiting commands, especially for steam trains.

Andi, I seem to remember that "call at" works better when using more than one of your stations with the same name to make up a larger station.
