That it does, especially when you consider he's only had a (registered) copy of Trainz since March! That is some fast learning, and something that (s)he should be proud of.

Love the most recent screens, mate. You look like you're off to a good start with the steel mill.

Matt.

This is an awesome looking route. The creator must be a very dedicated Trainzer and route creator to progress so quickly.

It puts my several-year-long-going-nowhere project to shame. :hehe:

Keep up the good work.

Regards,
Ian

The route is looking great, madtrainz. This one is a definite download for me! A place to run my pre-blue and blue BR collection in TS2009!:D

Fantasic is a BIG understatement!

I've been trying to build a route up to this standard, and have downloaded almost every JVC tree off the DLS. The trees you are using are JVC aren't they? They sure look like it, or maybe TRS trees from here: http://www.greenery.name/mstsgcz/mstsg.htm ?:o

But anyway, my work still isn't up to par, great job!:)
Thanks,
Mitch

Still waiting to see these 10 rules. I'm hoping they will help me actually finish a route. Hehe.

hi pfx and every one:)

rules i run by

1 read the mannuel inside out and upside down

2 work out on paper how big your route will be

3 every baseboard you lay down in survery add a tree to each corner.so if you ever need to find the middle of the baseboard, all you have to do is run a fence from one tree to another

4 now add rivers to all the baseboards(it saves cutting hills in halfand having high sided rivers, then smooth river banks with 4 t track on all parts of your map (going from top of bank to the bottom of the river then work all the way along the river with the track smooth tool

5 add hills for the first 3 to 5 baseboard (the hills come 1st before the track)

6 lay the track up to the point where you have made the hills

7add all towns, platforms and industrys to the baseboard you are working on

8 add roads lights signals to the baseboard you are working on

9 colour in the baseboard one at a time

10 add trees and scenery bits and the move to the next

(working this way you will never get bored of making the map as you will always have a new piece to work on

i hope it helps out:)

Hi madtrainz14,
I'm not quite getting rule 4, could you show a pic, the next time you do this,
I normally run two tracks down each side of the river bank set at a specific height.

Now I see what you meen.;)
but it leeves you vertualy with no bankside, where am I going to put my fishing basket? ;) :hehe:

Like your set of rule`s will be adopting them from now on and the idea with the quad track is a good one as ever keep up the good work.

cheers bob
