CNW the left hand road.
hi folks ,
well it's been a few weeks since i dived into trainz. a few teathing problems but nothing unexpected, i have been watching the fourms and reading over everything that i need to learn without posting a rant thread iv'e been able to resolve almost every question i had. imagine that what a concept!!!!!! read and look before having a fit like a child ...and blameing auran...content makers....payware makers...and everyone but themselves. the amount of good knowledge and information here is vast to say the least. yes the DLS is slow ...solution ..FCT. was the 10 bucks worth it? yes it was i can waste 10 bucks on a pack of smokes and 2 energy drinks . yes having a FCT is nice but i can say for new buyers you get a 7 day FCT for free use it wisely in my case it's the routes/layouts that i wanted the bandwidth for ...result? working routes with no missing anything ..freeware rolling stock/motive power of older content updating and installed running fine.as for SYSTEM related issues i looked around and found the thread about the trainz optionstxt file ....a simple edit and a huge noticeable improvement as well as killing the trainz ichat. so in the end belive it or not i did this all by my self without bashing insulting and ranting ..all by using the resources at hand . yes as i stated i'm running payware/and good freeware motive power and rolling stock. so to those who will attack this post and my views ..that's fine ..i'm happy and satisfied my trainz run fine and look good . thanks to those who take the time to post the knowledge and workarounds and willingness to help those who actually ask :Y:

Maybe a bit late for 'Welcome Aboard', but glad you like it here. I know I do...

Andy ;)
Hello Andy! I have checked your web site"CHECKRAIL", and found your work absolutely beautiful, highly detailed @very professional.I read descriptions@your suggestion, as to what to do, to get everything working the way it was intended.I consider my self somewhat average computer user.I have downloaded and install packaged sims/software, where I would follow instructions. I have several questions.I am only will refer here to East Kentucky 3 Route, for TZ10.
1.Is this a straight download, without me going somewhere else and getting something else, in order to drive the route.
2.Or, your project in order to drive needs more knowledgeable and experienced member to sort out files,if any add-ons needed to drive a route.
Thank You.Will wait for your answer b4 I proceed.

Thanks for your interest in EK3, unfortunately the answer to your content question is both 'Yes' and 'No'

EK3 does require content from third party sites which you need to download and install manually.

However there is no 'searching' involved. The EK3 Download Page includes a full list of every third party asset. In fact it contains two lists, one a list by kuid, the other a list by source. If you are new let's assume you will need everything, so just work through either list and download the lot. Note that some of the sites (not more than a couple) may require you to register and be logged in before downloading, if so attempting the download will take you to a 'Register Here' window.

Once downloaded simply drag the new content from the desktop into any open Content Manager window.

While it may seem intimidating and will certainly take a little while to work through it is not difficult. If you do get into strife simply post back here, somebody will offer help quite quickly...

Andy :)
