I use an older PC running Linux as a backup system, 6 old IDE drives plus a Sata for the OS, added an additional hd controller and a more substantial power supply, cheap and cheerful, basically made out of bit's I had left over from various upgrades.
Data is also cloned in case I loose one of the 6 data drives. Plus anything important is also burned in duplicate to DVD or CD.
