A Newish Way to iPortal

So a while back a few friends of mine where all talking about how to do iPortal in an fun and easy way. At the time I was part of one of what I can only assume are many iPortal groups. But they way they had it set up was just a bit too mind boggling for me. And more work then fun. So I came up with my idea. Ill post the jist of it, but the full beta version of the rules can be found here: http://z7.invisionfree.com/The_Railbusters/index.php?

But the basic idea is that we each pick one railroad, any standard gauge railroad form the US or Canada. Fallen flags are of course allowed. But no two players can be the same railroad. So player A is CSX, player B can be Conrail (Yes Conrail became CSX, but predecessor railroads are allowed), and player C is UP. This means that they would only put, to start out with, content appropriate for there railroad. Doing it this way alows us to know who's cars are who's. This means that later down the road a point system could be implemented.

To send a train, rather then send a specific train to a specific player you would just send out a loaded train. So player A has a loaded coal train, player A would send it to player B. If player B didn't need the coal, then player B would send it to play C. Player C might take off a few coal hoppers. Then player C might add some freight cars. And the train keeps rolling with people talking cars off and adding cars. This means that an West bound train might start out as only CSX cars, but by the time it gets back to where it started, it might have cars from every one. And I think this will have a cool effect on your yards.

Now for sending trains, it goes in order. ABC, or CBA. This means that player A's train must pass through player B's route to get to C. And each player would only send out one train, ether East bound or West bound. But any trains that arive at the players route are considered theirs until its sent back out the same heading it came in on. So a west bound train is all ways moving West.

Now one big misconception I have heard is that you have to be online, and the we will have a time and day that we all get on. Not true. Trains just back up behind your iPortal until you get on. As for when dose the Session start end? Sessions are based on the Week, From Monday to Thursday. This means that any time during the week for at least an hour you have to play TRS.

One last thing, I dont want to keep rambling on, but this is for TRS2010 ONLY. For more rules and set up information head to that link. I AM NOT STARTING THIS TODAY! Just putting the word out so we can collaborate and get set up for it to start at a later date. I'd kinda like to keep all set up chatter on my forums, but feel free to ask any thing here or there.
