What a great year we have had at MRM!
First we resolved our vandalism issues, then we had a great train season, rider ship was up and now we are getting a new locomotive!
Illinois Central SD40-2 #6071, built on an SD35 frame.
6071 was originally Gulf, Mobile and Ohio #950, she will be restored to her GM&O appearance as soon as funds permit, she will go perfrectly with the museum's GM&O flat cars and caboose.
6071 is operational and is having work done on its traction motors in Centralia, which is probably done by now.
6071 is probably at the museum site by now also.
6071 will be primarly used to move ADM and UTLX tankers to and from the museum site and downtown Monticello.
