A little help please

Error: This asset has a trainz-build number which is not recognized by this tool.
I went back to DLS to try and load this and this is what I found.

By the way, there never was an error message. Found this in missing dependencies.

OK, after trying to download the asset it showed faulty dependencies. There wasn't anything listed in errors and warnings. In dependencies it showed what was faulty. I returned to DLS, looked up the dependency and there it was showing as faulty. As listed in the above post it stated the Trainz built number was not recognized by this tool. I found a way to correct that and the error message went away. I again tried to download and this time it said it wasn't archived. So I archived the thing but when I move it over to download it still shows red and will not let me download it. I haven't been able to find any other messages as to why. Anybody?

The 'not recognised by this version' , means it is for a version higher than the one you have. This is also the reason for the red bar.
Right click on the asset and then click on' View asset version' , then click to 'Open in main list'
This should list the versions available. Try to download a lower version from the list. My TS10 uses <kuid2:225098:102094:1> and has no faults showing. I don't have TS10 connected to the internet so higher versions are not listed. This is to stop updates being shown all the time and sometimes causing problems.
I am running the non updated version of TS12 (I have my reasons) and it also shows with a red bar. So not sure why it is doing that.

Thanks for the info Mike. Tried it and no list appeared. You see, I was able to change the version before and that cleared errors and warnings. Still had the red bar that said not archived. So I archived it but still shows the red bar but doesn't give a reason. The assets I'm trying to download all have a list of good dependencies except this one. While it is available on the DLS it shows faulty. Not sure what to do at this point.

I presume you mean after succeeding in downloading the asset it showed one or more faulty dependencies. What were they?

In dependencies it showed what was faulty.
Do you mean that you were able to identify the dependency that was missing, and when you listed that dependency is displayed as faulty?

What did you do to correct it? The KUID of the asset you are referring to is critical.

This is where it makes no sense. How did you 'correct' it if you hadn't already downloaded it? What is the exact message? I am not aware of any message that you might get during downloading that refers to archiving.

Archiving should have nothing to do with the problem or with fixing it. What does 'move it over to download' mean? What is the exact procedure you are doing and what is the exact message you are now getting?

SailorDan, let me try and answer your questions.

1. Upon downloading asset it showed faulty dependencies. The asset was an autorack and the faulty dependency was a car product.

2. I right clicked on the asset, went to View Dependencies. That is where I found the faulty dependency. There were no missing dependencies.

3. I returned to the DLS and searched out the faulty dependency. It showed faulty dependencies in the DLS list. I right clicked the dependency and went to Errors and Warnings. There it said the Trainz build number was not recognized by this tool. So I went to Edit in Explorer, opened configurations and changed the version from 3.7 to 3.5. Returned to the DLS, right clicked the dependency, checked Errors and Warnings and found that to be clear.

4. Maybe my terminology isn't exactly right but when I go to the DLS and find something I want to download, I left click and drag it over to the download box on the right side of the screen. If there are any problems with that asset then the asset name will appear in red. I have found that most of the time if you place the cursor on this it will tell you what the problem is, i.e; item not archived, faulty dependencies, etc. That is what I meant by a message.

5. So after I cleared the Errors and Warnings problem and attempted to download again, the red appeared again and this time said "Not Archived". So I archived it. Attempted download again, this time red appeared but gave no message as to what the problem might be.

Hope this explains things a little better. As I said in the beginning I'm new to this and just trying to flounder my way through. Everyone on this forum has been first class and I've appreciated all of their input and help.

Is this the EH Holden product? What is the KUID?

I don't follow this bit. Are you referring to the asset as viewed in Content Manager after you downloaded it?

Not recommended. You might get lucky, but usually not. This change is minor, but should not be required. If you aren't running the latest verion of TS12 then this probably explains a lot of the problems. I think you are saying 'DSL' when you mean Content Manager.

I don't know what 'Item not archived' means but it is not an error. If you are referring to Content Manager and not DLS then 'Item not archived' simply means that you haven't archived this item. That should be the case for all your content. If that asset is still appearing in red then there is some other problem. Knowing what the asset is would enable someone else to replicate what you have done and identify the issue. KUIDs are really important.

когда нажимаю сессию, не чего не открывается, для любого маршрута!:( даже загрузки открытия нет...Если есть возможность сообщите разработчикам игры: что сценарии не загружаются из за смены языка с английского на русский! Как только ставишь английский язык, сценарии загружаются и можно играть в сессии...

По сессии нашел причину! Когда нажимаю сессию, не чего не открывается, для любого маршрута!:( даже загрузки открытия нет...Если есть возможность сообщите разработчикам игры: что сценарии не загружаются из за смены языка с английского на русский! Как только ставишь английский язык, сценарии загружаются и можно играть в сессии... Все дело в смене языка! :)

In this case, after I archived the Holden Product it still wouldn't complete the download. So far as my TS12, I don't know if it's the latest version or not. How do I find that out and if it isn't how do I correct that? I'm sure nobody on this forum was an expert at this when they started.

EH Holden Cars (Prod),<kuid2:225098:102094:1> is error-free in TS12.

If you had to change the version from 3.7 to 3.5 to get it to work then that indicates that your version of TS12 is not the most recent, and that would explain much of the problem that you are seeing. You should update to the latest version. Your build number is displayed at the bottom right of the launcher screen and should be 61388. Archiving has nothing to do with it. If you are downloading assets using Content Manager and the download gets to nearly 100% but doesn't finish, then just ty again - it should work the second time. This is a known problem, and occurs mainly with large assets. Archiving is an unrelated function.

There is a Russian Trainz forum where you might be able to get better advice that I can give you on this matter. If it is a bug then you will need to report it at the Bug Reporting site (but post in English)

Thanks Dan. That is not my build number so I'll do what I need to do to bring it up to date. I appreciate your help.

Dan, tried to update to version 61388. Got message that said this patch file is not applicable to your current installation version. I have build number 51798 which wasn't listed so I chose the one that would update to 61388.

?????

DrM527 - I don't recognise that particular build (the 51798 one). Whereabouts did you purchase that from as that is where you will need to look for a patch?

К каждому сценарию ресурса добавлены языковые файлы, поэтому при загрузке этого ресурса на ваш язык он будет правильно переведен. Если разработчик этого ресурса не добавил язык, он не будет переведен. Вы можете «клонировать» ресурс, а затем отредактировать скрипт, чтобы добавить свой язык.
 
Shane, I bought it from Amazon, it came from Japan. Maybe I should just junk the thing.

Maybe I should just buy TS 2019. What do you think?

That will probably depend on what your computer is like as TS2019 requires more computer power than TS12 (and it's also 64-bit so your computer also needs to support that).
