A little confused about out of date content?

I dumped my Trs2010 in favor of the more reliable Trs2006. I did a clean install on my high end computer and did not import any of my old content as of yet. I see that there is a list of 45,000 or more out of date content that can be updated. What is that? Does that mean the the original built in content is out of date and can be improved on? I wanted to clean up my Local folder from all of the bad content and start over with my 6 year old map. And just download the missing dependencies. That way my Local folder would be a lot smaller and used for my current map that I have been working on. Should I update all of that content as it is going into the local folder again? Thanks in advance for any help possible.:)

Please what is out of date content?

:( No answer from anyone? Maybe nobody knows like me. This shows up in my content manager and I need to know if it should be updated? Will that fix the poor conent and improve on the quality for better performance?:o

TRS2006

I am unsure what the "Out Of Date" section really means.

Also I am unsure why certain items in the DLS (active) section say "Unable to download, as URL can not be found", or "Asset can not be on the DLS".

CMP for TRS06 gets really confused about this. The icon usually appears when you have a later version of content, rather than vice versa. Check with the online DLS to see what I mean.

Some content updates are to address performance, but the majority will not make a huge difference. Items which show errors in TS09/10 in older versions should be updated where possible, as there probably is a hidden performance penalty in earlier versions.

Thanks for the responce

I thought that if I updated the content that was listed it would be better also. But then I found that the content that was being updated was not the built in content after all. It was just downloading more content that had errors into my local folder. It seemd to have nothing to do with the built in content, if it did then I was creating clones of what I already had, so I stoped and deleted my local folder:mop: and used my backed up one. I am using the Trs2006 for now as it has been very reliable and smooth for me using the Trainz Tuner for my routes. Much more satisfying to have the draw distance set to 5000m to enjoy driving in cab mode. Frame rates is good about 35fps a hitch once in a while but I can accept that.

Well, you're running up against the problem all modern Trainzers are. You need to fix the content yourself, at least, until one of several major projects go through and do same.

RRSignal so right you are!

:) Thanks for the reply. I am still trying to have patience with the Trs2010 and now I have another block. The patch Sp3 will not install due to having the XP Pro Sp2.:'( That another Thread that I just started.

I have XP Pro (SP3) on one of my PC's with TS2010. TS2010 (SP3) installed without any problems and is running well on that PC. XP (SP3) is just over 300 megs so why don't you download and install it??? - That should solve your problem...
Cheers, Mac...

Because I loose all of my Vista add on settings.

I do not like XP Sp3 read my other thread as I explained it better. Never again will I install XP Sp3 on any of my gaming computers, except my internet computer for security reasons. The Trs2010 runs just fine on the XP Sp2 now why would Auran want me to install XP Sp3 just for a patch that may not work. I have read many threads that are complaining about the 2010 Sp3 patch and that is a red flag for me.
