A First Time For Me- What are the steps to take uploading to the DLS

Fellow Trainzer
Hi all, well of all the years of being a Trainzer, this will be my very first upload to the DLS. If one of of my fellow Trainzers can give some advice on what I must do to upload content, My content will be reskins or modifications to content made by other talented content creators of this awsome Sim. One thing I'm very strict on is, I Will always ask for permission to upload any modified content that is not my own. this first asset is a modification to the Dock (Transfer) From Pencil42, all that done was replace standard gauge rail to 30in gauge rail. Thank you Pencil42 for your kind permisson. All the help in this learning experience will be rewording to all. Thank you all, -Robert-

Just be sure it has a description and thumbnail that measures 240x180, and that the version number (Trainz-build) is 2.8 or higher. Test it again to be 100% sure it works after adding these, if needed. Then just upload through your Planet Auran page, under Your Content.

Or use your Content Manager. Right-click the item to upload and click Upload, and again from the list which is then created.

O.K. RRsignal My first upload has been approved by the DLS. I have it in the preview area, before I click "Approved" for the description, how do you fill that in so to give thanks for permission and notification on who the original creator of the asset is (I've installed a Readme file the asset folder to let be known who is the orginal auther is, and the permission to upload).

Well, at this point, you'll have to upload the object again after adding the description line into the config file. I like to offer thanks and praise for the original artist there, so that everyone see's it up front. Most people don't read an additional Readme file anyway. Something like this:

description "Sweetgum_2 30 meter as first released by David Drake, reskinned by Euphod for use in Trainz 12 without the blended alpha problem. Thank you Mr. Drake for allowing me to reskin your work, you are legend in Trainz."

So sounds like to me, all that I do is just add to the discription information in the config file? That's almost to easy! :hehe: Thanks Ed. that's one thing I don,t like, is taking credit on something I didn't do. That is so cheap when other poeple do that kind of thing!

Yes, I agree. Just make sure you spell it correctly, or it will be an error. Description.;)
