The Rescue of Coal Train N319, CSX Abbeville Subdivision, GA 01/19/2022.

Even though this screwed the works for a day in Georgia for CSX, this would make an awesome session for one of our routes. The DPU couldn't be switched out due to powers to be above saying so and the rescue locomotives belonged to another train. To make things more complex, one of the older locomotives was possibly not equipped for remote operation, therefore couldn't be used as the DPU. Now thrown into the mix is a couple of through freights that need to get to their destinations without interruptions making this even stickier as the crew is going about their job.

Looks like the Powers above need to learn a few things!

Shameful and embarrassing if this is truly the mindset as the best way to handle Critical situations that contends to deteriorate and affect a larger regional existing train movement? :(

Wonder how much additional delays, dwell time, Route disruption cost as a consequence of their questionable decision making......?

Thank John for sharing.......;)

Interesting video, thanks for sharing it. That could be a session ...
Camera work was rock solid, I imagine they were using a tripod.
I wasn't familiar with that design of C-C trucks/bogies and had to look up the builder. CSX #562 is a GE AC4400CW.
