A couple of questions

I have a couple of questions which Im hoping someone can help me resolve.
1) I have a level crossing just off the end of a platform. When the train is approaching the gates duly open as they should. They dont close until after the train has left the station. Now if the train was going back in the direction it came from - that would not be an issue. What I want to know is, is there any way I can get them to close a little earlier if the train is continuing to head away from them?
2) The load and unload commands. Is there anyway that they can be combined so that the doors do not close after the train has unloaded only to reopen again to load? Thi looks very un-prototype. I know little about scripting so I dont know what to do - assuming of course that it has not already been done.

Thanks
Antony

On the level crossing thing, have you tried the ATLS system? It includes a driver command that could close the gate behind the train even if it was very close. If you are using mocrossing objects I don't think it can be done.

Oops - I just noticed "United Kingdom", as far as I know the ATLS system leans heavily in the direction of US prototype, so not sure how helpful that will be....

I have not tried the ATLS system so I shall go look it up. If its not too obtrusive it may be what I want. Thanks

For load unload - you only need to use one of these commands, I only use load and when the train stops at a station it both unloads and loads passengers. If you need a train to empty completely there is a terminate passenger train command that can be used.

Anthony, I never use the unload command on passenger stations - just Navigate to -> load -> navigate to -> load and so on, and the doors open once, passengers load and unload and the doors close once and the train chuffs away to the next stop quite happily.

Ken

Thanks guys on the help. I dont now why Ive not got my head around the load/unload - I guess I just never thought about it. As for the suggestion about the ATLS it seems to be doing just what I wanted so thanks again.

The only time I ever use "Unload" is at an industry, such as a power station. Navigate to coal mine -> load -> Navigate to Power Station -> Unload -> repeat, and that works. Passengers, no, as you have found.

Ken
