This has come up so many times!

Hi Chris --

I'm not blaming you, but this has come up so many times.

Use "Search" then "Advanced Search" towards the top of the page.

Key Word(s) = Nvidia

and (optional but will get you to you correct thread quicker)

User Name = philskene

a). Tell us if this helps; and
b). Tell us if it solves you problem.

Chris,

First off edit your post and remove your email address. You don't want the web spam bots picking up your email adress!

First of all.

What kind of video card did you have before?

Make sure you uninstall all the old drivers first.

Install the latest NVIDA dirvers

You might have to reinstall DirectX 9 even though the card comes as a DirectX 10 or DirectX 11 card.

In Trainz, try the options for either DirectX or OpenGL. On or the other may fix this problem.

Good luck and please let us know if any of this helps.

Hi John --

He said brand new GT430 - that's one of the better Nvidia cards. I think it's fair to say that new card = new drivers. With Nvidia drivers there is now no need to uninstall the old.

Rather than spoon feed newbees I think we need to teach them (and perhaps some of us oldbees) how to actually use the Forum search function to solve issues themselves? Hence the link to what is probably his solution.

It'd nice, though, if he came back and closed the loop with a "Thanks."

Phil

Edit:

By the way Chris, I was on your South Island mid-year snow boarding. Your is a great country. Great people too.
