750mm Freelance NG Module

hi, ...

@ RedShark.
I had as you know in March2011, "Diazkino" loaded, yesterday I got me your track "Russian Narrow Gauge" and loaded my they both look almost identical. Is there like Diazkino?

Approaching the broad gauge terminus from the 'edge of the world'....

The content limiter has kicked in, specially in the second shot. This thing really want looked at from a very low camera angle :)

The repetition in the concrete wall texture is not so obvious closer up, but I am not changing it no matter how it looks. That ramp has 5 splines all curving in two planes - building it almost drove me mad and I'm not touching it again for any amount of money! LOL

Place Names for the Freelance Module still worry me!

I have taken the names of actual 750mm Russian Stations and changed them around to make 'pretend' names.

Can Russian speakers please advise if these names are OK? I do not want to inadvertently cause offence or accidentally use the name of a real place!

KULASNE
NILCHATANYA
ROSTOKINKA
KANSINO
ROBOROVKA

Thanks,

Andy :)

Looking good Andy, Keep the awesome pics coming mate. Can't help you with the Russian either sorry lol. But the names you have there sound ok to me.
Cheers Mick.

It will be better.

KULASNE - KRIVUSHA (Кривуша)
NILCHATANYA - NIKULINO (Никулино)
ROSTOKINKA - ROSTOKINO (Ростокино)
KANSINO - KANSHINO (Каньшино)
ROBOROVKA - BUGROVKA (Бугровка)

At the rate you seem to be expanding this, it will soon be as big as Russia itself!

Nope, it runs to exactly 9 boards arranged 3x3. That's a bit over a mile and a quarter square, or about 1,000 acres or not much more than a couple of decent sized farms. Tiny!

Squeezed into it are three towns, a couple of villages, several rail served factories, a port, a turf strip mine, three lumber/sawmill industries and a broad gauge interchange.

It's built like a model railway, not a real railway. The track meanders around all over the place never taking the shortest direct route and speed limits are low, so there is actually a LOT of running on it and it takes a fair while to get from one end to the other (EDIT: I just placed kilometer markers on the route - it is just under 5km end to end, or almost exactly 3 miles! :) ) and I think it could produce some quite involved sessions, that's the plan anyway.

Now, since this is a screenshots thread...

... I invented the name 'Sharkino' in tribute to RED_SHARK and all the help he has given the project, then discovered that there really is a Russian town called Sharkino. Since the real place is a small town surrounded by trees I let the name remain, but there is no intention that it represents the real place...
