I would be uncomfortable about not having some sort of control over what was being backed up and retained, especially if I had more than 360 gigs of hard drives attached.
You know there is a built in back up system to XP, Vista, Win 7 that will back up to a USB connected hard drive don't you? It defaults to my documents but can be configured to do different types of back ups and restores.
