New & Better Graphics

I have successfully download and installed Trainz 2009 Beta. The game starts up just fine and I have played around with several of the surveyor and driver routes, but I haven't seen any of the great new graphics yet. Everything looks just like it did in Trainz 2006. I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE graphics card with 256MB of memory.....am I missing somthing or just looking in the wrong places?

The graphics are not supposed to magically be better, so no, you really aren't missing anything. All of the older routes and content will look about the same. However, TRS 2009 has been updated to support newer and more complex methods of content creation and texturing that will allow us to make more detailed content. Once that new content starts to appear, I suspect you'll see a major difference. As far as I know, there have also been other, more subtle graphical improvements.

The new UP SD40-2 is a good indication of what's to come. Compare it to the old built-in SD40. I see quite a big difference there!

wow this game changed so much,auran must be talking the graphics seriously this time,if only they can change the engine fo the game,the engine was same since 2001
