I wonder if any of you saw these great little cars that are on the DLS.
They are a complete series of 1956 and 1953 Chevy's in all of their original colors. Just beautiful work.:)

I have been in these cars when they were brand new and the seat design and colors are perfect in these renditions. Also the colors of the cars are perfect. I downloaded them all. Give them a look.

I wanted to add them to my route config files to have them driving on my roads but the only problem I had was that they run down the road sideways for some reason, and I don;t know how to remedy that problem:'(

Hope someone can help.

Good job Kree8tivit.

It did state that they would not work as AI cars in the description. But agree with you on the quality of these cars. A neighbor of mine has a "56"in light blue. Been in it, never knew they could be so comfortable to ride in.

Those cars are great, but sadly as Bob says are stationary objects. My grand dad used to have a '57 Chevy Bell Aire. I was quite young, but remember sitting in it. I couldn't remember if it was comfortable or not because I was quite small and was sitting in my uncle's lap.

The problem is the creator of these cars didn't orient the mesh along the proper axis. He is the only one that make the necessary correction. If you don't know how to contact the author, post his name here and maybe someone can help.

If I remember his original post on this subject, he did these so they could be parked on hills. He also stated that at some unspecified time in the future he might consider releasing a set that would have the axis changed so they could be used on roads. So lets just be patient and they will probably show up in time.

Yes.....George & Jade are correct......

The models are created with axis rotated so they can be used on hills. The route I'm making (Lehigh Valley - Forks of the Delaware) being in the Northeast, is hilly country where you won't find many flat roads.
Also, I do not use AI traffic - it just seems to create more problems than it's worth.

Since I am using TRZ 2006, and considering Auran's (foolish) plans for no longer accepting uploads for 2006 content......it is questionable whether versions of these carz suitable for AI traffic use will make it to the DLS - especially since I have a ton of other projects that are more important to my route to create.

Couple that with the fact that the DLS is not always working right ( I first tried to upload these '56 & '53's back on December, 19, 2009 )....and have tried every month since. Gee, it only took 5 months.

Finally......would be remiss not to say thanks for the nice comments.
I strive to make these as authentic as possible - although compromises are always made to avoid unneccessary polys - looking for that "balance" between simple enough to perform well in the game, yet detailed enough to create a reasonable facsimile of the prototype........nice to know it's noticed and appreciated.

Thanks again,
Mark

They are beautiful models. They look great parked, and since you can see the inside, the would look funny driving down the street without drivers. I too am experiencing my first major catastrophe with AI traffic, so I understand where you come from on that. Either way, thanks for the lovely cars, the fit my favorite era perfectly.

Are you still planning on making more cars for TRS2006?

Thanks Kree8tiviT.

Now if we just had 56 Chevy wagon, 57 Chevy 4 door hardtop, 52 Ford Crestline Victoria w/ Contenental kit, 55 Ford Sunliner, 63 Pontiac Tempest, 62 Rambler Ambasador, 68 Cougar, 79 Fairmont wagon, 84 LTD wagon, 84 Cougar, 90 Dodge Spirit, 94 Plymouth Sundance and a 96 Buick Regal,
all cars I have had, Trainz would be perfect.
About the Chevy's, I have often thought GM (now Government Motors) should bring out a 56 and/or 57 Chevy fully modernized. They were not so big outside and HUGE inside. Then again, I have often said "they don't build then like that any more, fortunately". If this was a car forum I would now launch into many stories to back that up.
Oh yes, and don't forget a Honda 64 250 and a 72 450 scrambler.

They could build it from the Caprice platform. Still a V8, still rear drive, still powerful and ride like a dream. As long as they didn't make it hideous like the new Camaro. At least Dodge can keep a little of the muscle car vibe in their re-hashed models, hell, even Ford has it with the Mustangs. I would love to see someone hop up a modern Mustang with big fat (not low profile) tires and some 70's slot mags.

@ Motorbreath:

Actually....I've toyed with the idea of adding attachment points for a driver.
However, 2 problems:
1. Don't want the drivers to appear in the "parked" cars.
2. At some point, I will attempt to create my own people....and so will wait till then, so the fit properly into the vehicle.

But, what I REALLY need........
is a good script......similar to "Maddy's" script for the YARN roads.
Script would allow not to display driver for parked cars, even passengers. Maybe also turn on/off headlights & taillights depending if parked or moving. Windows up/down. Select to display certain options.......for instance, the '53 Chevy I had to create two separate models (one with visor, one without). Could have been accomplished more efficiently with a script.
Probably could come-up with all kinds of neat "frills".....but, alas, I do not know how to write the scripts, maybe will try to learn some day.

Regards,
Mark
