06 vs. 09

Being told that it is my fault that TRS doesnt work, getting blamed for TRS not working is an insult to my intelligence!
Its lack of quality within the game, cmp, etc that is to blame.

Hello Laddie

Nobody is saying its your fault the CMP or TRS is not working for you, we're just trying to help you out and that post was not directed at you.

Im running XP SP2.

I reinstalled TRS06 last night and it kept saying that the server is full...... so i uninstalled it this morning, cleaned the registry and then reinstalled it, Its been about 2 hours now and its still says Querying ticket status, and when i click download it says that the server if full..

Now i wait for my hardware to be blamed... which hasn't had a problem since i bought it and no other software has had problems with.

OS: XP SP2
Memory: 4GB
Processor: 2.4Ghz Quad Core
HDD: 1Tb (2x500Gb SATA HDD)
Graphic: Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT

Sorry if you have already tried this, but can I suggest removing and putting back your password in Planet Auran?

Hello Laddie

Have tried deleting the assets.tdx and assets.bku files? so CMP will re-build the Trainz assets database: C:\Program\Files\Auran\TC\assets.tdx and C:\Program Files\Auran\TC\Cache\assets.bku

Done that 4 times now.

It's very unlikely to be your hardware XP generally speaking isolates the software from the hardware. Try the suggestions in the thread mentioned above.

The most common source of software problems is in understanding the instructions for use.

On one project I was on one of my programmers thought we had made the end user instructions idiot proof. I found an improved idiot much to their disgust. The wikis (Trainz Wikibook) can help here since some one can clarify what to do if they have problems with the instructions.

Are you using a first class ticket? If not then the DLS servers are limited to the number of free connections available and are taken off line occasionally so the message server full may well be true if you are calling at a peak load time.

More to my case. why should we have any confidence and be looking forward to TRS2009?

hi laddie, cant remember the problem i had but once i couldnt download with CMP so i downloaded with the direct FTP link on the download station which brought CMP to life,

Gav

whats the FTP link?
On the web version of the DLS there is a download page option. Click on that and there is a Download(FTP) option. Click on that, and tell the computer to open the file with CMP. If that doesn't work, then you could always save the .CDPs to your computer and install them after downloading. Make sure you get all the dependencies if you do it this way.

Ah, never thought of that?

But doesnt that mean i would have to download each cdp seperatly?

I can remember it took me about 45 mins to get one loco to work

Hi Laddie,

This tip has worked many times for me in the past, when CMP starts to mess up on me, this usually sorts it.

Cheers,

Lorin:)

I've done that, all it helped to do was to make CMP realise I have a FCT but thats all, it still says the server is full
