I reported to N3V that I would experience a 10-15% drop in FPS just by coming out of a session, to the route menu and loading the same session again. I have to quit the game to get that FPS back. I don’t think this is something exclusive to SP6/HF1 though.
SP6 + HF1 has had about a 10-15% negative effect on FPS for me when running my densely populated route and session. However, Nvidia has come to the rescue in a timely fashion by introducing Smooth Motion for its GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, which has had the effect of doubling framerates for me...
I don’t know whether it’s the length of time that a session has been running (or subsequent multiple 48 minute loads as in Peter’s case) but for me it often gets to a point a few hours in where it’s like trains forget they have a mission code and it sits at a red. I guess in real life that’s a...
I don’t claim to be an expert with this topic, but why if my route uses under 16GB of my 32GB of memory, and a lesser proportion of available GPU memory, are there memory issues or a need to restrict memory use?
For me, it's Surveyor 2.0 is the best new feature coming out of Trainz in recent years. It's a shame it's not quite finished still, with a number of features still only available in the older version.
Thanks @pware . Can report likewise for this route in build 132284, but don't have data to compare before and after FPS.
For my own very detailed route, the re-drawing issue has gone, but FPS is down around 10-15%, particularly in areas that have many Speedtrees. I've made no edits to the route...
Lots tested the RC. Reported bugs - all of the same problems that many are now experiencing. Regardless, RC build becomes SP6. Now N3V want people’s help… again? I’m still left trying to understand why SP6 was released when they knew of these issues.
