Ongoing Investigation: SP6 Route Performance & Redraw Issues

"PICNIC" was a favourite round here, meaning either "person-in-chair-not-in-control" or "person-in-charge-not-in-control".

Steam Loco Can't Maintain Boiler Pressure when Departing. Help

If you have the minimum fire temperature and boiler heat loss parameters set up correctly the boiler pressure should always recover (eventually) because, so long as there is enough coal in the 'box the boiler should be capable of generating enough steam pressure (40-50psi) to at least get the...

Steam Loco Can't Maintain Boiler Pressure when Departing. Help

If you've got your blower effect and max flow set up correctly there won't be any "ghost steam" in the boiler as any false boiler pressure will drop and vanish as soon as the blower is turned on. For a number of reasons you should always start away in full gear :)

    IMGUR links not working?

Sadly your images above are how quite a lot of this forum now looks to me. God bless the the UK government for keeping us all safe.........NOT!

UK Screenshots for Pre BR Blue. High resolution warning.

Personally, I'd vote for a less than perfect canopy over a truncated route anyday!

Trying To Make LNER A4s Go Faster Than 75 MPH

I don't think the max permitted speed tag affects cab mode performance. Camscott's loco's were not really set up for cab mode driving, so there will probably be quite a lot to sort out, including mass of the loco and the tender and finding a suitable engine spec, which as far as I know doesn't...

New UK Protrack by 2995Valliant - missing kuids

They've never been faulty as far as I know and I'm using them without issue here in Trainz +. What errors are you seeing?

Tweaking braking for an enginespec - guidance needed.

You probably need to edit the "brakeratio" tag in the motor container. It should be between 50 and 65% of the relevant vehicle's mass - probably the high end of this for modern air-braked stock. I have only recently latched onto this for my UK engine specs, and it makes a huge difference -...

    Dovetail - N3V 1 : 0

I'd wholeheartedly agree with some of that (sounds, lighting, in cab "toys"), but the more I learn the more I'm realising that Trainz underlying physics are actually very good and better than than the competition's IMHO, but I don't think anyone has yet worked out how to configure them properly...

So I did some analysis of the build version of all the assets I have...

I have a number of hobbies I've pursued for many years, and it always makes me smile when someone new comes along and tells us all how it should be done :) IMHO backward compatibilty is one of Trainz greatest strengths. I have been building/rebuilding and using some of my routes for over 20...

    Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

Zec certainly does play the game.

    Trainz Update Announcement (SP5)

I know what they say about arguing with idiots but...... It seems to me that the logical conclusion of the more hysterical posts so far is that N3V should never try to improve the game (which they clearly have over the years) and therefore we should all still be playing Trainz CE? Updates...

    Trainz Roadmap

I'd far rather pay for it, and own it with no need for it to "phone home" etc. (in the same way I don't like buying things on finance) but I see it as paying a monthly sum (a chunk of which I'd already be paying for an FCT) in return for which I've received a number of updates, probably...

    Trainz Roadmap - a DX12 question

I took it to mean both of the above, but we already have things which were once regarded as impossible (ie HD terrain) due the computing power required - and that power is still improving year on year.
