Routes with no external content please :)

hi, i have recently got my computer rebuilt and installed train 2009.
I need help finding routes to download that do not require much or any external content, as i cannot buy a first class ticket right, i also need these routes to be fairly small or not complicated as my computer struggles to run some of the larger more complicated routes that come with trainz 09 to start with.

I also have another problem, it doesn't fit into this section of the forum but it saves me making two threads.
When i am running the game, for about one Minuit the game runs perfectly without lagging, but after about a Minuit the game lags for about two minuets before going back to normal, is this a problem with the computer or the game? and how would you all reccomend fixing it?.

Thanks in advance, jordan.

That thread lists routes with all DLS content, but upon reading your post more carefully, you seem to say you can't afford a FCT right now. I don't know where you can download whole routes without having to download some content as well, either from the DLS or from a third party site.
There are some very nice, small "Model Railroad" type routes that you may like, many on the DLS.

As far as your PC problem, is this happening in Surveyor or Driver? Might it be the Surveyor auto save function?

Hello Jcobra,

Let me first say that I am not familiar with Trainz 2009 or what is included with it, but perhaps it has everything from all the previous versions.

But to see some routes with mostly built-in content (I saw only ten) and the German ones require built-ins from the German version of Trainz.

Go to the Download Station screen, highlight a bunch of versions lower than yours.. Under "Text Search" put the word built-in and click the "Description" button, and tell it to Search,

You can try different words in Description... I also tried the words uses only and got a few hits about "uses only built in".

So, that is one possibility. Good luck!

TS2009 didn't include a lot of routes, it was more to let content creators create with the updated game engine. TS2010 was the one for content.

I try to only include assets that are on the DLS on my route ... building a route with only built-in content is tougher.

Without a FCT you can download at slower speeds, and aguire the non-built-in DLS assets.

Try my TRS2006 (untextured) WIP route and see what you think of it ? http://www.mediafire.com/?hob4yr2hx71825n
I am working hard on a more detailed, more complete route, and hope to relese it also, soon.

Dang ... Now that I think of it it has non-DLS RTS tracks from RomanianTrainzStudio ... http://www.trainzro.com/index.php?option=com_docman&task=cat_view&gid=41&Itemid=56 Sine CFR v2.0

My recently uploaded Raquette Railroad KUID2:30024:20060:1 was built in TS2009 and uses only built in content or items from the DLS. The emphasis is on driving through the scenery rather than complex operations but you get around 30 miles in total to explore.

How was it the best simulator for content?

It actually included a few new routes. TS2009 was more a release of the game engine so content creators could come up to speed on the changes. TS2010 was aimed at a more general market.
