ZecRail Trainz Content

Zec the M class looks absolutely magnificent. Are the ABL cars meant to have the black behind the lettering? When/what other cars had this on them like this?

hoping we see some more dogbox variants, especially electric ones :p

God that's a good looking train

Thank you for stating the obvious H222, It was a merely expressing my opinion.
Please don't say anything smart back to me because i don't want to start a war again.

All I said was that it's his choice, no one else's, and he can make it payware or freeware. You seem to be pushing him to make it freeware. I'll state the obvious for as long as you ignore it. Sorry about this Zec.

I am going to faint!

Are you going to be able to see the Stephenson valve gear just below the boiler, like the DD, Y, and F class locos.

Besides that, Oh my god! It looks better than any VR steam loco I have seen you make, you seen to just get better and better, there is never a maximum with you, is there?

And that Ks tank engine is a beauty, I thought it was just a K183 like reskin of that model, oh well. Still very good, you are gonna have to make a custom interior.:p

Cheers

Hi All

Jamie, they sure are. Most pass stock painted in the Crimson Lake should have black backgrounds. Some stock didn't for what ever reason (American Saloon cars seemed to lack it!), and this lasted well into the 1950s. I'm really hoping to expand the passenger stock collection for both country and suburban trains at some point :) Especially dogbox type cars of various types :)

Aidyn, you sure can. And this time I was able to do it a little more accurately, and it's actually much more visible than my other models (Azza's Y has the inside motion a little more visible, as per the prototype), due to the small boiler and short tanks :)

And thanks, yes there is a maximum at the moment. I think I've finally found the 'happy medium' for the green livery locos (clean, but not pristine, and with quite a bit of relfection/shine!).

As to the Zs, the current variant won't be released (I've never given the Zs to anyone, however a few people got the Ke's, and I also did a Christmas variant as well). However, they all actually had custom interior views, since it just required replacing the 'loco' side of things with the tank version :)

Regards

You seem happy Zec.

Are you going to use the standard Peanut Whistle on the M class? Because that would suit the era, so I have probably answered by own question.

Anyway, back to commenting the M Class.
If you have done all the basics for the M class, I would imagine you are going to switch over to the interior, and if you do, you must keep us informed. I am going to LOVE looking at the way you mastered the interior, speaking of the interior. How would you know that your cab interior will be prototypical?

In your personal opinion, which model of track is better, as I have the 80lb track and the normal BG track, which one do you suggest for route building.

Cheers

An Excited Aidyn

Hi All
Thanks guys, still plodding along here :)

I'm adding a few animations, etc, to the loco at the moment. All of the standard stuff, plus a few new things (some of which I don't believe have actually been done before! :) ). Interior work is a little ways off, and I'll be taking a break from the M for a couple of weeks shortly, but that's a different matter lol.

The whistle is a peanut whistle, or something of the like, but I'm not sure which sound I'll use yet. Will have to wait and see :)

As to my tracks, I would recommend the 80lb track unless you absolutely need a heavier looking track (or SG or DG tracks...). It is quite a bit more efficient, and has 'scale' length segments, except where it calculates it needs shorter segments (curves and short lengths of track), basically doing 'everything' that my earlier tracks only did part of lol. Plus it plain looks better IMO! :)

As to freeware vs payware, as noted just a few posts back, this is undecided. Repeatedly asking isn't going to change that lol.

Hi All
Now that a lot of stuff on the exterior model is 'finished', I took the chance yesterday to bake the model again. This time using some new settings I discovered (after a bit of research), which have substantially brightened the inside of the cab!

S301_20141223_0002.jpg

The 'exterior' cab. Note, a few parts will now have further details textured onto them :) The glass for the gauge glasses is not yet present, as they aren't mapped/textured yet :)

Hi All
I am very pleased to announce the release of my Christmas train for 2014. Due to so many other commitments, I have had to make the decision to only do a locomotive this year, however this does mean it is a freeware release :)

This year, I decided to use the updated version of my F class 2-4-2T locomotive as the basis for the Christmas train. This includes all of the new scripted smoke effects (using the script from the updated F class locos for Healesville :) ), scripted air compressor, as well as animated flags, and animated cab door, cab windows, and cab roof vent. The locomotive is painted in the new 'ZecRail' ivy green and purple, with blue lining and gold leaf pin striping, matching last year's DD class locomotive, and includes all Christmas features including flashing red and green lights and static white lights (both at night only), and flashing lights on the Christmas tree on the boiler, and of course a lit headboard.

Also available are three pre-built consists for the F class, using the rolling stock from the 2013 Christmas Train pack (these are payware via the DLC system). The consists are a 'heavy passenger' consist (see the first screenshot), a 'light' passenger consist (the same as the heavy, but with fewer carriages), and a 'goods' consist (see the second screenshot).

These have just been uploaded to the Download Station, and should be available for download tomorrow :)

Please note, this pack is only for TS12 Service Pack 1. The Trainz-Build tag is set to 3.7. I did not have time to test it in pre SP1, and last time I tested a loco with this script, there were major issues with the extra sounds.

Merry Christmas All, and a happy new year! I hope everyone enjoys using this one :)

:udrool:

How long did it take you to make that christmas train Zec

Hope you get started on the cab interior soon, gonna look great. And merry christmas by the way!
Cheers

Hi All
Hi All
The loco, and consists, have now been approved. So should be available sometime in the next 12-24 hours :)

And Aidyn, about 2-3 weeks, although it was off-and-on work on it, and it's re-using a lot of parts from previous Christmas locos. The main work was to reskin the loco lol. But then, this was always going to be a fairly 'quick' one, compared to previous years :)

Regards
Zec

Great job Zec, I think you should have a rest from making models until the 12th of January, which is when most of the preservation groups go back.

Still Great Job! I need to know though, was it you that made the VR Y class (steam) locomotive, and if so when was it removed from the DLS?

Cheers

Zec has not done a Y class... Also, he is with the Puffing Billy Railway, tomorrow is their only day off :hehe:

Hi Aidyn
I think you may be thinking of the Y class that Azervich has made. I think a few made it to the DLS, but there's also quite a few that were only ever private releases, beta releases, or the variants included with Healesville for T:ANE :) Well, Y's, New R's, Ry's, there's a mix of the buggers :p

Regards

I stopped uploading after I put the two early Y's on DLS as I came across better high res photos and started rebuilding them and improving textures.

These are a few months old, still a heap of the others such as late Canadian Red and early Black, the current ones just have textures updated and baked ground planes Zec taught me :)

As you can see, there's quite allot of them, these ones cover 1905 through to 1927 ish, I still need to do 1924 through to 1930 and there's several variations of those, some have Foot Boards and some don't, some have Duel CC Pumps and some have Single CC Pumps, then there's the Welded Tender's that was introduce from 1940's (The type that are on 108 and 112 along with the one V 499 group just bought, if not sure on the difference to the original tender's, here's a video http://youtu.be/hGIThhWWbDs ).

Cheers.

Happy anniversary of this thread, let's hope Zec continues to deliver above-average models for years to come. As I do not think he is going to get bored of it any time soon! Happy New Year, and most importantly, Happy Trainzing!

Cheers

Wow, I can't believe this thread has already been going for a year :)

Well, to kick off the new year (even though it was taken last year :p ), here's a screenshot of my M class...

S301_20141231_0000.jpg

I've now added the correct number plates and builders plates, plus she now has glass in her windows, a spark arrestor, and gauge glasses. Of course, only the windows are visible, and pretty hard to see in this case lol.

And to finish up, a couple from a couple of Multiplayer sessions on Healesville in T:ANE CE, as this took up a great deal of my modeling time in 2014 :)

Are those from actual multiplayer sessions? If so when will you be on a session playing multiplayer. Not during the week I hope, I am out and about for the whole week.

Cheers, and (couldn't resist not saying it again) congrats on the 1 year anniversary of this thread.
