Why is Bridge_concrete_aus_2t Usa always faulty?

No matter which version of Trainz I've ever had, every time I see Bridge_concrete_aus_2t Usa has always been faulty. There doesn't seem to be any way to contact the author Ed Hill to fix it and update the file so that there are NO errors on the file. There's like over 500 + routes/layouts/maps that uses this bridge 'Which I would assume, would had been working at the time this bridge was used'

If someone can tell me exactly how to fix it, I would do it. But sadly I will not be able to upload the file to the DLS because it belongs to Ed Hill. Unless Ed Hill see's this thread and fixes the file, that would be SUPER!

Here is the continuous errors

Seems pretty straight forward to me. You have to rebuild the config to comply with the requirements for Trainz build 3.5. Find a bridge that is build 3.5 and follow it as a guide.

The second issue is the track used by the bridge is a re-skin of built-in track that is not longer available. Solution is to find a track of build 3.5 that you like and replace the kuid of the bad track with its kuid.

Deleted. WReeder covered my point in his last line. missing require original track asset <kuid:-1:100295>

Hmm, I just downloaded it from the DLS and there were no errors, just warnings;

<kuid:57511:38054> VE48: This asset uses an obsolete trainz-build number. Trainz-build numbers below 3.5 are no longer supported.
<kuid:57511:38054> VE61: Required tag 'trackdirections' was missing and has been set to default.
<kuid:57511:38054> VE61: Required tag 'width' was missing and has been set to default.
<kuid:57511:38054> VE62: Required container 'thumbnails' is missing.

There are 2 dependencies which I apparently have in TANE (and have probably re-named them, but their kuids remain unchanged);

<kuid:-1:100295> Bridge 2t conc
<kuid:-25:193> 1t wood grey

Not sure why there is a discrepancy between what the OP describes and what I'm seeing.

It's faulty in TS22 with these warnings and errors:

Code:

The errors are the lines starting with a hyphen. The real error is obscure IMHO but some of the original N3V dependencies were obsoleted and it seems the validation cannot find the dependency. Its a TB 1.3 asset and I'm not sure its worth reporting to the CRG.

<kuid:-1:100295> Bridge 2t conc is not in my TRS19 Platinum, although I do have it in T:ANE <kuid:-1:100295> Bridge 2t conc. Similar to Dinorius.

Oddly, in T:ANE it says "Installed from DLS", but in TRS19 it does not appear in the Download station list in CM. From the post above from Pcas1986 I am guessing it is also not in 22. So, my GUESS is that perhaps this is pulled from DLS by the Content Repair group. If not then it has strangely disappeared from the DLS.

The CRG doesn't have such powers and actually has no extra powers at all. But we can claim and repair assets from a Faulty Asset List that N3V generously contribute to regularly by tightening the validation and allowing users to upload assets below Trainz Build 3.5.

Assets can appear to be missing from the DLS when they are not. Even if they show not found then try downloading them anyway.

Right click and selecting "Download this version" is the best method to use when attempting to download these parked assets.

If only it was mate, I've tried editing the config file and more errors after errors and you guessed it errors pop up.

This is the config file, unedited. There is also a bridge concrete aus 1t usa version and the file is set up exactly the same way as this problem file
and it's not even faulty, by the same author.

Ok, I've wasted far to much time on this issue. Here is what I think is happening.

Ed Hill created this bridge by re-skinning a built-in Auran bridge and also re-skinning the track using a Auran built-in track. The problem is that N3V has updated -1:100295 as Bridge_2t_Concrete m kuid:-25:1319 and added -1:100295 to the obsolete table of that asset. So it appears that CM does not recognize -1:100295 as being installed even though it is because the obsolete table entry says to ignore it and use kuid:-25:1319 instead but CM just sees -1:100295 as missing. This may be a bug or it may just be an unthinking misuse of the obsolete table. I tried making the asset point to kuid:-25:1319 instead but it then shows kuid:-25:1319 as not found.

Bottom line is this isn't a problem with the asset but a problem with the error checking. Feel free to submit a bug report.

Yeah, came to much the same conclusion this afternoon. There are better versions available so why bother with a 1.3 asset.

I looked at the original problem asset with a view to fixing it via the CRG but couldn't see any value in the effort. In fact the asset was literally just a copy of the original and not even a reskin.

Ah I see, thanks for explaining.

It makes perfect sense. Now I can also understand another issue why the reskinned HST to Countrylink and InterCity XPT liveries isn't showing correctly. These only show the original textures
