Trainz Simulator 12 won't start! Help Please!

Hi, I have the steam version of Trainz Simulator 12, build 61297. When I click start in the launcher the game just closes and nothing happens. I dont even get an error message. Could you offer support and advice on this issue please. I will list my laptop specifications below:

Samsung 3005VA
Processor: Intel Pentium R CPU B952 @ 2.1GHz
RAM: 4GB
Operating System: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics

Could this be the graphics card?

Welcome to the forums.

It's likely to be your graphics card - Intel cards do not function well with Trainz if it's an older model.

Try running Trainz in DirectX mode (Launcher > Options > Display Options).

In addition to this, you will need to register your version - click Planet Auran then Serial Number, then fill in the form.
