SunRail

Well eventually they will. The first phase is running from Debary to Sand Lake Road. This first phase has a lot of connections to attractions/theme parks.

Forgot to say that the leaders from Central Florida did go to Charlotte, NC.

Actually, that was

They visited the cities of:

Charlotte, NC --- LYNX
Dallas, TX --- DART
Denver, CO --- The Ride

they also have unanimous support from Utah's UTA, LACMTA(Los Angeles), MDTA/TRCX(Miami), RTA(Chicago), Milwaukee, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Toronto, Montreal and a few other transit agencies. Congressman John Mica(R-FL) is also supporting TBARTA in their quest for a multimodal system.

TBARTA was born in 2007, as legislated law as Florida Constitution Statute Title XXVI/Chapter 343 to bring in a multimodal transit system and work in partnership with different privatised organisations with regards to creating developments in the 7 counties of Pinellas, Hillsborough, Manatee, Sarasota, Pasco, Hernando, and Citrus counties which bring together the greater Tampa Bay Metropolitan Area(Polk, Sumter, Hardee, DeSoto, and Highlands counties). Commodities include passengers and cargo. The planning phase has finally ended and we have gained funding for 7 Headquarters in each county in its county seat/capital. Funding is being gathered little by little, and TBARTA has an appointment with CSX to run trains in the Tampa Terminal Area and on the Clearwater, Palmetto, Plant City, Valrico, Vitis, and Yeoman Subdivisions in the Jacksonville Division. Knowing the problems SunRail(SRCX-- just a possible reporting mark/codename) had with CSX, Tampa's system is going to be a PAIN.

The following modes/jobs are to operate in the currently 7 county region are:

Bus
Bus Rapid Transit(BRT)
Monorail
Subway(Airport Area --- LRT Integrated)
Light Rail Transit(LRT)
Streetcar/Tram
Commuter Rail
Ferry/Cargo Ferry
Highway Maintainance and Management
Rental Car Opportunities
Transit-Oriented Development(In partnership with Destination: Tampa)

Anyways, thats nuff about my area... Congrats with SunRail, and Miami already has TriRail... and we'll have TBARTA's BayRail.... Everything's Rail these days isn't it? :p

PS- Keep an eye on my new thread about TBARTA and whats going on with us over here in West Central/Tampa Metropolitan, Florida
Back to you guys.

Just to let everyone know they don't have updated news very often so we are just going to have to sit and wait until further notice.
