I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to. But it's a combination of the paint scheme from a GP40 and an F7. A bit akin to this scheme from on a GP-9. They're almost all 'imagineered' designs. Where I took various elements from different variations of a paint scheme. http://www.westernmarylandrhs.com/gallery/WM27.jpg
In general I choose the passenger scheme when there was one, if not the more colourful fancier scheme.
I'm referring to how the four stripes don't guide the angling down of the white. On a GP7/9, FA, or F3/7 where the white stripes do angle down like that, the four stripes end at a shallower angle than usual, and the white/red border closely follows it. You can see it in your picture.
Most units where the logo 'bumps' down on the nose are so that the logo doesn't cross over number boards. While I don't have that problem on the ES44, I did make it bump down to pass underneath the window on the door. In the old, actual trains it bumped down the whole height of the logo, giving your a nice clean area to have the white field follow. However on the ES44, it doesn't have to bump the whole logo-height down; which minimizes the amount of angled area for the white field. In the end I thought it looked odd that way. It's a fictional unit anyways so I can do what I want with it I seem to remember (although it's been a while since I did the skin) that I was following an actual design, although it may have been a one-off. There may have also been an issue with design of the ES44, again it's been a while & I don't remember.
Looks like your trying to use a shiny reflective type texture just below the orange stripe on the side Jackson ?. I like them so far's anyways keep at it.
Cheers Mick.
