Portals

Hi all
Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to use Portals please.

I am trying to set up a 4T station and i would like to have a short simulated main line thru 2T using portals and my route thru the other 2T.
I have tried a mock up on my "practice" boards but cant quite get the timing right.

Timing is the rub when it comes to portals. It's too bad you can't set them to certain times, only certain intervals. There is a rule to Emit Trains Now, that may help you. Do a forum search for it if you like. Getting the portals to work the way you want them to is really an art, and requires much trial and error.

Use the Portal Timetable Rule on the DLS, you can set the times and the consist that you want to come out, of which portal that you want.

It is frustrating there is so little flexibility in the portals.

I DL the time table and I am now having fun setting it up,
I shortened the time span for trains exiting the portals and turned to do something else and ended up with a track full of alternate consists unable to go into the exit portal due to trains comming out :hehe: :hehe: :hehe:
