Norfolk Southern's specially painted honorary SD60E's, 6920 and 9-1-1, pose together in front of the Chattanooga National Cemetary in Chattanooga, Tennessee, along the Tennessee Valley Railroad's "Belt Line". Employees from the Chattanooga Diesel Shop took special care to clean the pair of locomotives to be displayed during the funeral procession of Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Randall Scott Smith, who was among one of the five fallen heroes in the recent attack on the Chattanooga Navy Operational Support Center and Marine Corps Reserve Center. Norfolk Southern has always had a deep connection with Chattanooga more than just its tracks passing thru it. It is here where the last Southern steam-powered freight train ended its trip. It is here where the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum, who has always had a deep connection with Norfolk Southern, is located. It is here where the last excursion of the original steam excursion took place. It is here where one of Norfolk Southern's two paint booths are located. From this booth came numerous specially painted locomotives, including their heritage units. The Chattanooga Choo-Choo Hotel was originally Southern's main station in Chattanooga, named Terminal Station.

Outstanding respect by NS. Keep up the good work. And in dearest memory of those who were killed in Chattanooga that day.
